I am now going on week 3 with an employee who has a piece of metal stuck in his finger and needs to be seen by a specialist for surgery. Throughout the 3 weeks , our claims representative has put roadblocks up and appears to look for ways to be unhelpful. Both my employee and I have made multiple attempts in following up with her, and she is consistently unavailable , according to the provider only sends partial information and after 3 weeks doesn't want to follow-up with the provider and can't even commit to calling my employee back with an update.Claim # DUWC550967-001 Claims Representative: ******** ***** ext. 4505 The employee was seen at **************** on 9/18/2024. They sent him to **** Advanced Imaging for X-rays on the same date. **************** is referring the employee to a specialist for surgery. The employee was given 4 pages of providers to seek care for. 95% of the list did not provide care for workers comp claims or were simply no longer active providers. He finally found the provider below who is on the ready to provide care. But they can't do so without receiving the medical notes, radiology report and authorization from Guard to provide care. While the employee was doing all the legwork, they advised that worker's compensation should mark this case as "urgent." I called and e-mailed ******** with this request. While she sent the authorization and medical notes from ****************, she did not mark it urgent, she did not provide the provider with the employee's contact information, and she did not include the radiology report.I spoke with someone by the name of **** who identified as ********** manager this morning. But in all honesty, did not sound anymore helpful than ********. I can't let my employee sit with metal in his finger for another 3 weeks. Does anyone at Guard give a rip?

As an agent, Guard is awesome to work with. Easy to navigate, "live" chat vs. automated chat is wonderful and the fact that you can make simple changes through live chat is great and real time. Able to communicate directly with underwriters and claims adjusters is a huge plus

The lack of service and response from this company is deplorable! My husband has been waiting for weeks for an approval for an MRI so that he can be treated for a ruptured disc and no one wants to get back to us. We were finally told on 8/6/24 that it was approved and sent to his physician, but when we followed up with the physician on 8/8/24 to get it scheduled we were told they did not have the approval. After leaving messages for a claims rep as well as a supervisor with no response, we have absolutely no faith in this company. They have no problem taking payment for our premium, but when we need to use the coverage, they don't want to know us.
