I brought my 2007 dodge nitro to zipped auto on feb 28th 2023 because it had no heat and signs the head gasket was going on the car. I wanted it repaired. They had the car for close to a month. Told me it needed all kinds of parts and that they will fix it. They called said the car was fixed and I needed a ball Barron on the drivers side. I picked the car up paid **** for the repairs. I brought the car back two days later to repair the ball Barron. I picked it back up on April 5th paid 400 for the ******. Drove it straight home about 1 mile from shop and when I pulled in the head gasket let and coolant went everywhere and it started to over heat. I called the shop the guy tells me its my head gasket went. I told him I told you that is what was wrong i thought you fixed it!!! He said he fixed everything else alll new parts but not the head gasket. He said he will call his boss because I just paid **** with them to fix my car. He tells his boss will have it fixed for another ****. I refused and the car has been sitting since. It had alll signs of needed a head gasket. InsteaD of repairing that he did **** worth of work thats pointless if the car doesnt run. I was most definitely taken advantage of. I showed receipts to other Machanic sand was told he most definitely knew the gasket was going. I told him several times there is white smoke coming from the back. It was losing coolant. He told me no its not a gasket. I was most definitely taken advantage of. He knew I needed my car. Im a single working mother. It was tax season and he took advantage. He said theres nothing he can do for me. I only have the receipt for the man job not the second receipt for *********************.Customer response

Customer came with the truck to the shop complaining that it had no heat and that it has been at other repair shops for an extended period of time. we checked the truck coolant system and found that the coolant hose was clogged with STOP LEAK material that was either added by the customer or other garages. Customer was told the coolant was not circulating and this is probably why they did not have heat and that is a start to repair the issue. thermostat was recommended to change as well since it was probably clogged (and it was) due to the addition of STOP LEAK. After this repair was done, car had Excellent heat and the problem that the car came in for was solved
customer mentioned white smoke, and we found valve cover was cracked from other repair facility as she had multiple work done (Timing belt replaced twice, Crank pulley, water pump, valve cover gasket, thermostat)t, and according to the customer they added Head gasket STOP LEAK. Valve cover was replaced along with valve cover gasket and smoking issue was resolved.
The truck needed to pass safety inspection and most of the work done was safety related and emission related. as noted on the receipt. check engine light kept coming on with different codes, since the truck battery was dead when it came in, non of the codes were present in the computer history. once safety repair was done, the car has to be driven to reset the monitors to get it to pass inspection. every time we took it for a ride to reset the monitors, check engine light came back with oxygen sensors codes (2), after replacing hem, it came back with misfire codes, when addressed car passed state inspection.
we tried helping the customer with every possible way to get her back in her car. when customer called back that she wanted the head gasket replaced, we told the money she spent on coolant system, thermostat and repair of heater hose and oil cooler hose totaling $356 would be deducted from the head gasket repair as it was an attempt to help her out. all other work done to the car was safety and emission related and not related to the head gasket. even though it was not our fault, truck ran fine thorough the multiple drives to reset the monitors and had excellent heat which was the customer complaint; we tried to offer her help as much as we can by offering the coolant repair amount to be deducted from the repair Bill but she refused.
everything was noted on her receipt, with problems that the truck had prior to service. we always try our best to help every customer out and we want everyone to be happy. if the customer still want the ********************** done for the head gasket, we will gladly still offer her the same money $356 that we did before off the repair
