My Wife and I were assisting Her Mother(92yo) and her Partner(92yo) find a Senior Living Facility and we selected Harmony.2 checks were issued by the couple $500 to hold space and $3890 was completed with the contract signing. The couple split 4 days later and Harmony was notified one day before the Mother's contract was effective. We requested that the $3890 Check not be cashed we knew the $500 had been cashed.We heard nothing back from Beckie Cunningham Executive Director so I went to the facility to meet with her.I specifically asked that the second check not be cashed due to the contract cancellation.The next day the check was cashed and no reimbursement was offered to the Mother. I had followed up with two e-mails one after the meeting and after the second check had been cashed the day after our meeting.The Partner remained as a temporary tenant until he moved our about 2 weeks later.There was no reimbursement to the Mother.I believe that the Executive Director should have reimbursed the Mother half of the $4390 for the contract that was cancelled before it was effective.We have received no communication from Harmony and we believe that was Poor Business Practice.

Harmony has been sensitive of two elderly people splitting after 28 years together. Harmony has been in communication with both parties during the process of admission and discharge. As a courtesy, Harmony notified the family that a binding contract was to be executed and Harmony relieved her out of the contract, but a check for rent was issued from a joint account prior. Harmony does not get involved with personal finances of prospects/residents. Both parties are now closer to family as needed. Thank you.
