I paid my mortgage last month. Apparently, there was an internet connectivity issue when I submitted my payment. Three days after the payment was made, I received an email stating my payment was late and that a late fee had been charged to my account. I logged back in and made the payment ******** soon as I made the payment for the second time, I called customer service to inquire about having the late fee removed as a one-time courtesy. The agent told me that this happens occasionally and that he would issue a request to remove the late fee and that I would be notified once it was removed, which would be within five days. I never received communication about the request.I logged in this month to pay, and the late fee was still on my account. I called in to inquire once again. I was told by the representative this time that the request had been denied, and I wasn't sure why I wasn't notified. He also stated that RoundPoint no longer issues courtesy refunds for late fees because clients "have been missing their payments on purpose and calling in to have the fees removed."It is very concerning that my mortgage is held by a company that obviously does not have any loyalty to its customers and, frankly, has zero customer service abilities. They won't even waive a fee for a once-in-a-lifetime mishap. They must really need that $72.95!I have also had issues receiving refunds after they double paid my insurance premium out of my escrow account. They just seem to want to hold on to my money so they can draw the interest on it.Additionally, RoundPoint, unfortunately, like many other customer service representative groups, has outsourced its call center. It is extremely difficult to understand their representatives through their thick accents.I am very disappointed with this company, especially since I am forced into giving them my business with how mortgages are constantly being bought and sold. My father had his mortgage through this company. He passed away 12/31/2023. As of 8/2024, they still wont talk to me even though Im the executor of his estate. Ive never seen a more poorly managed company. Please dont use them. My father loved his home, my job was to protect it. Round point mortgage stopped me from doing that for 8 months. This company is the most incompetent group I have ever worked with. They are holding more than $100K of my insurance reimbursements from hurricane ***, and for three months now it has been one excuse after another as to why the money can not be released to me - even though I have provided them with the documentation they have asked for repeatedly. Every time I call in to check on the status of my reimbursement, there is another excuse about why they can not release the money. And by the way, this is reimbursement from my insurance companies that I paid the insurance for. Who is the customer here. ***** this company at all costs.RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing LLC Response

Round point contacted me and stated that I had not paid my mortgage. I had, bu direct debit monthly payment . They charged me a late fee, as I only partially paid. I pay extra every month. They claim they sent an escrow statement showing that my approx. $1000- mortgage had increased by $442- a month. They then eventually agreed that there was an error. That they had not uploaded the escrow statement. They have put in a request to reverse the late fee. I have not yet received an escrow statement. My taxes have not increased, and my insurance increased by $7 per month, I have no idea where they are getting this extra $442- a month increase as I have no documentation. The company doesn't have a good customer service and follow up. All mail correspondence lacks contact information such customer service phone numbers. I need to do a ****** search for all contact info.The website it's not MAC friendly. I try to send document throught the portal and I can mange to send any files.Customer service fail over and over to solve issues that are as easy as sending documentations.I wish as a customer I can choose a more reliable ********************** company, I waisted hours pursuing issues with this company.Looking below I see other have similar issues, this company should not be in business.RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing LLC Response

My loan was sold to RoundPoint Mortgage. I just received notification that my September bill was overdue and that a late fee had been charged. I sent an email yesterday and followed up with a call today. I sent payment at the end of August and was therefore disputing it. Maybe my payment went up??? Not sure. They showed that my payment was short changed $73, and they had applied it to principal. Therefore, they claim "no" payment was received. My only option to fix it was to make a payment today (9/30) for the full amount due. This would be to cover September's payment. They would then write a ticket to have the money that was applied to Principal and have it moved to October's mortgage payment. I would then send an additional $73 to make up the difference. If I didn't do it THIS way, it would be reported to credit companies. My credit score is currently well over 800. I felt forced and had to move monies around.I asked to have the late fee removed, as I had paid in August and wasn't made aware that it was applied to principal. The *** said that she is unable to authorize it because the fault was mine. I attempted to dispute it and asked to speak to someone who could help. Rather than transferring me, she said that she can open ANOTHER ticket and if they feel that it wasn't their fault, then the late fee would remain. I've never heard of this and asked for something in writing that says if any monies received is less than the payment due, this money goes to principal and the customer would be charged. *** said that I could email customer service to request that because she can only tell me over the phone. I've never heard of this kind of customer service. Now I wait to see if they will refund the late fee. I did not choose them to service my loan. Based on this, I would not refer them. It is one of the worst mortgage servicing company period.Extra charges for anything to do with LTH value, they love collecting fees for almost everything Extremely poor online portal One of the slowest processing company when it comes to insurance checks and guess what they will endorse and blame it on **** because they do not want to make sure the check is tracked and blame it on investors for their rules and regulations. More than two months and the house is still not repaired thanks to their extremely slow processing.I am not sure why they do not learn and make better for customer and their investors like other ********************** companies do.RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing LLC Response

This company recently bought my mortgage from another company and when they did their escrow review they missed my tax bill by 99%. It took several calls by me to correct the matter. Very poor service. 7 phone calls. Over 2 hrs. 30 min. It all started when I went online to submit a escrow payment of over $5,500. Authorized online August 30th the payment using my routing and acct. #. Sept. 3rd my wife notified me they tried to take the money from her acct. We have different accts with the same bank. This froze her acct. We both contacted roundpoint and I gave them verbal authorization to take the $ from my acct. I have an authorization number. Money was never pulled from acct. Sept. 9th again spoke with customer service. They stated I should go online with my bank and make a payment direct to roundpoint. I received a mailed statment yesterday charging me with a late payment and returned check. I call today was on the phone for over 1 hr. Customer service is stating they tried to take the money out of my acct twice (Sept. 3rd and 4th) and was rejected both times for insufficient funds. That is not possible and I have alerts with my bank for any transactions over $200. Roundpoint also states they do not have my $5,500 even though it cleared my acct yesterday. I'm waiting for a supervisor to contact me. Reading other reviews, I'm not the firth customer who has dealt with the online payment mix up. I keep reiterating I never authorized round point to take this money from my wife's account.Review from ANDREW A

The worst! Change payment total without notification and charge late fees as a result. Worst customer service. Say they will relieve the fee and do not. Cant pay the fee without paying an extra mortgage payment. By far the worst. Do not do business with them.
