I hired Dillinger G**** with In-Power Upstate to build a free standing wall and install an electrical wire/breaker switch/box for a hot tub. On 6/27/22, i wrote him a check for $1700, which was half the price quoted to me for the work. I wrote him a final check dated 6/30/22 for $1700 to be given to him when he finished the work. He did work during the first week of July while i was out of town, but he did not finish the work. My mom went ahead and gave him the final check, because Dillinger said he needed to purchase a new work truck. When i returned from my vacation, i found that the free-standing wall was not satisfactorily completed (drywall chunks/not smooth, wrong paint color, trim pieces not even). I asked him to please fix the situation. He came back and tore off the trim pieces and re-did some of the corners of the wall, but it was still not satisfactory. He said that he would come back and complete the work but "no-showed" on the given day. Two weeks later, i contacted him and told him i was going with another contractor due to quality of work. He also did not finish the electrical work which needed to be done before the hot tub was delivered. I told him i wanted my money back other workers completed the job (*** painting) and had to tear out the wall because it was uneven/unsalvageable. They had to start completely over. The electrical company (******* Electrical) said that the wiring had been done incorrectly. They had to tear the wiring out/start over. Dillinger said that he was very sorry and would pay back the entire amount. We agreed on 9/8/22 that he would remove the sheetrock, ladder, and the electrical supplies. He took the electrical supplies and said that he could return them for money. He said he would pay me four installments of $875 starting 9/9 and every friday after. He no-showed on me again 9/9, said he would come back either 9/15 or 9/16, and i haven't heard from him since. I would like my $3400 back.

On 9/5, I hired Mr. Gregg, owner of Inpower Upstate, to upgrade my electrical panel from a 200amp to a 400amp service upgrade and to connect a tankless water heater. When I hired him, I paid $2,300 cash and he committed to complete the work within 24 to 48 hours. On 9/8, Mr. Gregg showed up around 4pm to remove my existing water heater and a 100amp subpanel. When I asked him how he planned to complete my new tankless water heater, he stated he would connect it directly to the meter. I knew that was a building code violation and I asked him to not do that. He insisted that he had done connections like that before and to trust him. When I asked him about the 400amp panel upgrade, he added he would simply swap out my 100amp sub-panel and add the 200amp panel. I questioned how he was planning to give me the 400amp upgrade we had agreed, he said there is no need and to only use part of the panel he was going to replace. Again, I knew this was not up to building codes so at this point I asked him to cease and desist all work and put back my existing water and sub-panel back. He stated that would be a change order and it would cost me more. I argued that I had already paid him $2,300 and he should you send me the invoice for his work. Mr. Gregg threaten to pull and disconnect my meter if I didn't pay him, he also began to call me explicits on front of my family. Mr. Gregg began writing emails Sunday morning stating he had left tools in my house in an attempt to get back in my house with my permission, when I asked him what tools, he desisted on the tools behind and said he could finish the work he started. Mr. Gregg proved over and over he was not qualified to perform the job he was hired for and I did and do not want him near my house, especially after his unsuccessful attempts to get into my house. The $2,300 was a non-refundable deposit, now he's asking for an additional $1,500 for putting my water heater and sub-panel back.
