Continued from Review of DIXON TREES, Part 1 I then called the neighbor and she told me she had reluctantly given her permission because Dixon told her it was the only way the trees could be brought down. My neighbor and I are friends and she said she did not want to be the cause of my not getting the trees taken down, so she gave permission. Ignoring the contract, Dixon took the trees down. They half-heartedly removed some of the debris. I went to her yard after they left and gathered more of the trash they left. In addition, the person Dixon subcontracted with to grind the stumps did not grind them in their entirety. I am having to pay another person to complete the job, after paying the subcontractor $300.00. I had to argue with the owner and workers several times to get all of the chips removed from the stump grinding. Throughout the time Dixon Trees was working for me, I would find the owner and/or his wife in my neighbor's yard, communicating with him. At one point I raised my voice so it could be heard above the noise of the chainsaws and asked the owner's wife to come talk with me. In our conversation, she accused me of yelling at her and being unreasonable. The entire experience was upsetting and unsettling. I will not recommend DIXON Trees to ANYONE! I gave one star only because you could not submit the review without indicating at least one star.

I do NOT recommend Dixon Trees! I contracted with them to take down 3 large pine trees in my front yard. They subcontracted a third party to grind the 3 stumps. Prior to the day of actual work, I met with the owner's wife for her to see the location of the trees, take pictures of the trees, and to communicate my expectations of how they would be taken down in sections, and that all of the chips from the stump grinding would be removed by Dixon Trees. My assumption was that she would share the pictures and my expectations with her husband who was doing the actual work. Apparently that did not happen. On the day of the work, they removed the first tree in the manner that was described in the contract. The owner then came to me and said it would be too much "wear and tear" on his tree climber to take down the remaining two trees as described in our contract. (They had a bucket truck that took the climber 2/3 of the way up the tree.) He indicated they wanted to drop the entire trees, limbs and all, with one cut and into my neighbors yard. He asked for the phone number of my neighbor across the street so they could get her permission. I told him that was not acceptable, and I wanted the remaining trees taken down in the manner described in the contract. I would not give him the phone number of the neighbor. I went back inside thinking the matter was settled. As it turned out, the owner of Dixon Trees went behind my back to my neighbor next door and asked him for the other neighbor's phone number, which he used to call my neighbor across the street to gain permission to drop the trees in her yard. He then rang my doorbell again and said he was going to proceed with dropping the trees in that manner, (contrary to our contract).
