I purchased a very-expensive, backlit keyboard and, over time, the lights started dying one-by-one. Approximately half of them are dead now. I contacted this business to ask if they would take care of it, and they did not hesitate to inform me that I am outside of warranty and that I am welcome to pay $65 + shipping to have it repaired. It doesn't matter that this product was clearly defective when they shipped it to me. They have no interest in standing behind their products or their customers. Read their reviews here, on ********** and wherever else and you'll see more of the same. An average rating of 3.6/5 is not very good. I look forward to seeing that rating drop even lower. In the age of ******, you'd think a smaller company like this would make a greater effort so they don't disappear in the ever-growing shadow of their competitors, but that isn't the case. Thank you for sharing your experience. I understand your frustration regarding the backlit keyboard issue. However, I would like to clarify that the product’s warranty expired in 2019. Unfortunately, as a result, we are unable to provide free repairs or replacements. While I realize this isn't the outcome you were hoping for, the repair cost you were quoted is in line with the company’s policy for out-of-warranty products. I'm a brand new customer (as well as a new mechanical keyboard enthusiast). My first order came in SO fast, and everything was packaged perfectly. I really love how I can order switches in increments/packs of 10 (but still get a discount for ordering a lot more). That way I can just order a small pack of 10 without committing to a (possibly expensive) entire set of 100+ switches. I am definitely going to order again. Works with suspicious brands, lacking in support. Purchased a keyboard that went defective right outside of warranty, mechanicalkeyboards.com support recommends buying a replacement or seeking a "local repair". I bought a replacement from another site/manufacturer (*******) directly, thinking this was a different brand, but when this keyboard also went bad, their support points back to mechanicalkeyboards.com's support address, even though this isn't a keyboard that i bought from mechanicalkeyboards.com. Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, your original order, #****** was placed in 2017 and is 5 years outside the original one-year warranty. In some cases, we do offer a paid repair service but recommend a local repair shop in this instance. When purchasing directly through the manufacturer's website, we unfortunately are not able to offer warranty support. The keyboard I ordered from them on Aug 31, 2021 only shipped on Jan 31, 2022. They provided no updates in the meantime and I attempted to cancel my order with them. They told me to wait longer, so I did. It eventually shipped. But by that point, I had to get another keyboard of course so I didnt attempt to use the keyboard for a few weeks. When I finally started to use it, it was defective. It only got worse as the months wore on. Eventually I contacted them after under 12 months of use. I asked them to refund me for the defective product and they refused. They also refused to apologize for the lengthy delay, and the lack of communication. They were rude in their communications, cloaking it behind overwrought politesse. Do not buy from them. Sadly, ****** is batter choice.Mechanical Keyboards, LLC Response

Unfortunately, your order is several months outside of the original one-year factory warranty. We do offer a paid repair service, but in your specific order's case, we usually do not recommend it since the cost of the repair and shipping is close to the cost of your original keyboard purchase. I'm very sorry for the delay on your pre-order, it can take longer than we would like for certain models to arrive to us unfortunately. I had one good experience with this company and one bad. Unfortunately, the bad experience was amplified by poor communication and outright ignorance from the support team. When I called to explain that the keyboard I ordered was sent to the wrong address, the response was that I was simply wrong. Fine, I get it, you can't just trust every random customer looking for a refund at their word. But when followed up by emailing evidence of the situation, I was treated like a nuisance. Mechanical Keyboards assured me through an email that they contacted ***** to confirm that the GPS information shows the package was delivered to my house; once it was proven that that is not the case they refused to help me. I walked around my neighborhood looking into people’s porches, got through to both ***** AND *** customer service, and finally got my refund with a case that had to be escalated through ******. It would have been much easier for both parties if the team at Mechanical Keyboards had taken a few minutes at ANY POINT to write an apology or even a validation of the situation. Instead, they told me that the package was definitely delivered and I should go to the LOCAL POLICE to report a theft. For one thing, this situation calls for a LAWYER not police. If anything, Mechanical Keyboards should phone 311 and tell them someone is waylaying or changing the addresses on their packages. Anyway, I'm happy I can find some humor in it after the fact, but at the time I was not happy at all to be treated so flippantly. It's very disappointing that this happened because I'm writing this review on a fine keyboard I bought from them a couple of years ago; although, looking at my emails from the time, I can see there was some suspicious delay in the shipping until I reached out. The second star is for the great selection of products in stock for an American audience. I can only give the company two stars however due their unacceptable customer service. They refused to provide a refund for 2-day shipping even though the delivery company did not attempt to deliver the product. I had to spend hours contacting *** in order to finally get my product, and without my effort I would not have received the product for another week. I am very disappointed by the refusal to provide a refund for a service not provided.Mechanical Keyboards, LLC Response

Unfortunately, the carrier attempted delivery on 02/23/2023 at 10:39AM but stated the receiver was not available for delivery. Since the delivery wasn't completed that day, the carrier delivered the package the following day. I'm very sorry you did not receive your keyboard within 2 business days. Unfortunately, in most cases, the carrier will deny a claim for late delivery if there is a delivery attempt.Customer Response

Once again, the MechanicalKeyboards.com is calling me a liar even though no delivery was attempted any day. I had to physically find the *** truck to finally get my product. If I did not spend hours attempting to get my delivery, I would still not have the product. It is ridiculous that MechanicalKeyboards.com refused a refund when the driver never knocked on my front door. Not a single time was delivery attempted. If you must use this website, use a credit card so that you can initiate a chargeback if they attempt to scam you.Review from David Z

My order was shipped out promptly the business day after I placed my order, and arrived within the time frame as promised.
