I had appointment for Friday the 12th to get my ac checked bc it would not hold freon. I was charged for a diagnostic test along with being told a special dye bc the test showed nothing wrong also evaluation and recharge for total of $385.45 I had to make another appointment for Tuesday bc they were closed over the weekend and I could not take off work Monday. They told me Tuesday I need an air compressor along with many other things including another evaluation and recharge. I ask many why I was being charged again she said bc it leaked out. I responded with I know that's why I'm here. After being told the work would total $2,425.15 I told her I could not afford to pay that she offered me a payment plan. I told her I could not commit to that without talking to my husband and we would let her know. I left went straight to another mechanic shop where I was told they found no sign of any dye in my system meaning it wasn't put in. This mechanic sprayed some type of rubber seal around some hoses and filled my Freon etc back. So far no problems. While I was there I called to ask for another meineke and was told they had one in ************ she would not give me the number I ask 3times. I hung up and called that shop. The gentleman on phone informed me it was their policy to replace the freon free of charge if it was within so many weeks. Neither of these offered to give me customer service number. I did contact them today. The lady who answered said someone would be in touch within the next 48 business hours. I just want a refund for the money I payed bc I feel I was done wrong and I had to pay the second shop to fix what I thought would have been taken care of. There is nothing wrong with my air compressor and there was no dye found in my system. I work 2 jobs bc I have to and I can not afford to lose money for things unnecessary. OUR CUSTOMER CAME IN WITH THE COMPLAINT OF A/C NOT WORKING, BLOWING HOT AIR. SHE APPROVED THE DIAGNOSTICS WHERE WE FOUND EVERTHING OPERATING CORRECTLY. AS YOU KNOW, WE CANT SEE FREON WITH THE NAKED EYE SO WE HAVE TO DO AN EVAC AND RECHARGE THE SYSTEM AND ADD DYE TO SEE IF AND WHERE THE SYSTEM IS LEAKING. WE ASKED HER TO RETURN A FEW DAYS LATER SO WE CAN SEE WHERE THE DYE WAS COMING OUT IN WHICH THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS. WE FOUND DYE AROUND THE COMPRESSOR. RECOMMENDED A COMPRESSOR KIT INCLUDING COMPRESSOR, EXPANSION VALVE, AND DESICANT BAG IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A WARRANTY THROUGH PARTS HOUSE. IF THESE ITEMS HAD OF BEEN REPLACED, WE WOULD HAVE TO DO ANOTHER EVAC AND RECHARGE THE SYSTEM AGAIN.

There was no dye found from the other shop in my car. On both of the pdf's you can see where the mienieke shop wanted to charge me to recharge and evaluate my ac system again. They also said I needed a new compressor the second time. The first time I was told they found no issues. I don't feel like they are being honest or they don't really know what they are doing. My ac is still working since I went somewhere else. I feel as if they should reimburse me for the evaluation and recharge. The manager of the shop in ************ told me it was Meineke policy to replace the freon if it was within a certain time frame. The ******* shop did nothing to help me except make a proposal for a payment plan.Customer response

MRS **** CAME IN WITH A/C BLOWING HOT. WE DID A DIAGNOSTICS IN WHICH TOLD US SHE HAD NO FREON. WE EVACUATED AND RECHARGED HER COMPRESSOR SYSTEM WITH APPROPRIATE POUNDS OF FREON TO CHECK FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS. WE CANT SEE A FREON LEAK WITH THE NAKED EYE WHICH REQUIRES A SPECIAL DYE AND BLACK LIGHT TO SEE. WE FOUND HER COMPRESSOR TO BE LEAKING AND RECOMMENDED THE REQUIRED PARTS AND PROCEDURES TO FIX THE ISSUE.Customer response

WE PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTICS WITH MRS ***** APPROVAL AND FOUND EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL OPERATING AS IT SHOULD. WE ASKED IF SHE WOULD LIKE FOR US TO PERFORM AN EVAC AND RECHARGE TO DETERMINE IF SHE HAD ANY LEAKS IN WHICH YOU CAN NOT SEE WITH THE NAKED EYE AND SHE AGREED. SHE CAME BACK LATER FOR US TO CHECK THE DYE AND WE FUND HER COMPRESSOR TO BE LEAKING. AT THAT TIME WE SUGGESTED A NEW COMPRESSOR KIT AND WE WOULD NEED TO EVAC AND CHARGE THE NEW SYSTEM IN WHICH SHE DECLINED. SHE AUTHORIZED WITH SIGNATURE, ALL REPAIRS THAT WERE RENDERED. I HAVE PREVIOUSLY RESPONDED TO THIS THE FIRST TIME IT WAS SENT, NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED. THANK YOU SO MUCH.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: it is their policy to replace the freon within so many weeks and this was days. I was told I needed a whole new compressor and that is not the case at all. I had leaks which I was told by mienieke that could only be seen with the dye. They never put the dye in. Once I took it to the other shop clearly not another mienieke it got fixed. No new compressor. I'm just not understanding why they lied to me and tried to charge me again for something covered in their own policy. I feel like they should at least reimburse me something for one I didn't get it fixed by then bc they lied to me. It's so sad that people do give consent to these type of places to have work done believing they can trust the technicians and management to know what they are doing. Clearly this particular shop needs someone in charge to verify that each employee knows their job. I hope they understand how hard I work for my money and can't afford to just throw it away bc I tried the wrong business.

we do not refund customers based on another shops diagnostics. we have to do an evac and recharge to see if system is leaking. if found to be leaking, you have to buy the evac and recharge all over again (if you fix the issue and want cold air) due to broken or leaking parts on the customers vehicle. no refundCustomer response

I am unsure why you would believe that the business aka ******* made any effort let alone good effort to address my complaint. They do not follow their own policies and lie to customers. This was a obvious waste of my money and now my time. Hope you all sleep well at night.P.S. I wish ******* could **** my a** until their jaws popped!!!Initial Complaint

I was not asked to sign any documentation before my order was finalized. I asked to get a tune up that included only spark plugs wires. I never received an invoice prior to payment. Than was billed 861. Then they emailed an invoice and did services I didnt ask for and also put a warranty on my car I knew nothing about. The manger was extremely rude and wouldnt give me any information and refused to have a conversation. The customer service was extremely unacceptable and the fact the charge me $600 extra for services I never agreed to or asked for us not acceptable? I never signed any documents that agreed to any of these services.Business response
