In January 2020 I had ****** Roofing replace my roof. I came home during the day while they were performing the work and one of his crew was using a roofers axe to chop out the peak of the roof. Now my ridge vent is coming up because of the damages done to the roof decking from the axe. They also did not complete the work and caused some damages to the vinyl siding. The owner has acknowledged the issues and has several times told me he would send someone out to take care of this. Two and a half years later I still have no resolution even though I have a 5 year warranty so he has not honored the initial agreement or any warranty. I had another roofing contractor come out and look at the roof and they said all of the roof decking at the ridge vent would need to be replaced. I sent an email giving him a final opportunity to make repairs or I would have to take him to general sessions court but he did not respond. I do not want him to work on my house but to pay for proper repairs and compensate for the amount that would cover the loss of warranty having someone else perform the repairs. I am having to have a siding company do repairs of over $1000 for damages done by his crew.

This is a follow up complaint. After the first complaint ****'s Roofing said they would take care of the problems and that they were "not aware" of the problem the first time. The response was dated 6/14/2022. They had two associates come out over in September. Both of the associates could not believe the quality of work and even laughed that someone would do that. They agreed that the damaged caused by the roofer's axe was causing the issue with the ridge vents pulling up. Later that day the owner called and said they were going to fix it. He said it was fine to cut out the opening with an axe and that sometimes the nails don't hold. He stated the fix would be to drive screws into the studs to keep the ridge vent down. It is not February 27th and after multiple attempts to contact they have not repaired or responded. This is a warranty issue and there is a 5 year workmanship warranty on this that he has not honored. This is not only a potential for future damage due to water intrusion or other elements but could degrade the value of the home. At this point I do not want this contractor on my property and the only resolution that is acceptable to me is for having multiple inspections and quotes performed by other licensed contractors and then a mutual agreement on a contractor to perform repairs at ****** Roofing expense. I am also contacting the licensing board to see about resolution. I also had to have the siding repairs done already because they were allowing water intrusion. Those repairs cost me several hundred dollars.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and I accept their proposed resolution. I will get 3 inspection/quotes for repair of the roof by local roofers using the same roofing materials that were installed and send them to Mark with my preferred vendor of choice and then we can determine which one to go with. This will take me probably a month or so due to my travel schedule for work. How will this transaction be performed? Will this be a reimbursement after the work is complete or a direct pay to the vendor of choice? I prefer a direct pay once we identify the work to be done and vendor.

      Sincerely,
