      I believe we may have been scammed by **** (or attempted scam). We started using Alta for general pest control ~2 years ago. ~1 year ago, they offered to inspect our entire property and said we had rodent activity in our attics and suggested rodent exclusion treatment and ongoing rodent service. We paid ~3k USD for that, which claimed to seal all entry points, plus ongoing preventative pest control. ~1 after that (i.e a few weeks back) they offered to inspect again. That inspector said "the rodents are back so we will need to replace the traps - for free" but then recommended an add-on service of 14k USD and said "if we don't do the additional service, the rodents will keep coming back." Which is odd because I thought they sealed all the entry points - he didn't even consider how they could possibly be coming in again. He also said we had a termite nest in our garden bed and suggested a one-time service of 4k USD (online quotes for the same plastic traps are ~$500) plus $30 monthly service. I asked if he could kill the nest for now and he said no - only if we agree to the 4k + monthly charge. So I'm suddenly looking at ~18k USD in upsell after already paying a huge sum for (apparently) services that didn't do anything. I had a 2nd opinion come out (this other company having better reviews than Alta). The other co. confirmed my suspicion and told me the 18k quote was unnecessary. They offered treatment to address the same issues for less than 1k. So Alta = several thousand dollars of (ineffective) service + 18k USD in upsell vs. alternative bid of less than 1k. **** also treated for wasps, recently, and didn't even kill the nest I pointed out - I had to do that myself with a $10 wasp can. I also question whether their mosquito treatment is even real as we never noticed any difference in mosquito activity after Alta treated. Perhaps the worst part of all of this is that they ask for tips after each service, which is bonkers given all of the above.

      In April 2024, a door to door ******** came to our home unsolicited selling pest control services. My wife thought it sounded like a good deal, so signed up for 24 month service with $100 initial fee and $55 monthly for semi-annual services. They performed thr initial service without any observed change in out level of bugs.They also sent out an inspector who told us we had a massive rat infestation that would require $10,000 to treat. I saw no personal evidence of this and got a second opinion, who said there was a few rat droppings which was likely from 1-2 rats. They treated for $****** a results of being unhappy with the effectiveness of the treatment and feeling that their inspection was a manipulative scare tactic to get us to spend thousands of dollars, I attempted to cancel my service. I was told we would be charged $299 to cancel prior to 24 months of service and was threatened that if this amount was not paid, I would be sent to collections. I declined to cancel my service at that time for the associated charge.

      Sales doorman got a contract all ready without me saying that I was interested, he knew exactly who I was and the second time he came by the house my husband ended up agreeing to this contrAct under my name thinking that it was under his name and my name was on the contract and he signed it with his signature and the contract was under my name. When I called to cancel because it was not me they said it was a valid contract because it was signed and I said my husband is not my Power of Attorney so it should not be valid they also said that I need to pay another ***** to get out of the contract and I said is fine I just dont want this to be a recurrent payment. I just want to get the initial ***** and the ***** that they took because I never agree to it.

      I have a service set up with this pest company and they have not kept their end of service agreement. Example no matter how many times they come for mosquito treatment there are still so many mosquitoes like no treatment has happened. Other pest problems with bugs coming into the house have not been resolved either. With multiple treatments and people coming out multiple times besides the regular scheduled time. They refuse to release this service without paying a cancelation fee of over $400

      Today (09/26/24) is the date of the most recent transaction. Once again, I had another employee of this business knock on my door to sell me pest control. This unwanted interaction has occurred at least 7-8 times in the last 6 months despite repeated in-person requests to take whatever necessary action is needed to never come back again. This as been unsuccessful. Some of them become more aggressive in their efforts at that point. They indicate a no solicitation sign doesn't apply to them, because they provide a service. They don't leave and keep questioning you whether you already have a service or not almost like they are required to get at least that info to get paid. They just won't take a no for an answer. One time, I came around from the backyard to find one of their salesmen on my porch looking in my window to see if I was home. This is too much. They come at all times of day and nearly all days per week interrupting work, family meals and even bedtime. They send a different young man each time maybe hoping you won't know it's them again. I had two guys come literally 1-2 days apart.

      Alta pest control said I sighed a 12 month agreement on line and its 50. A month . The manager said she is sending e mails to *********************** and text messages to ************ these are neither my contact info. She said someone clicked on link and signed the agreement . My e mail is ***************** and my phone number is *********** I believe this business is scamming good hard working people out there money. There has to be something done. Alta pest control were to come out on a trial basis and if I called them to come back out. They are charging me for times they were never even here to service my home. And the manager said its because I ****** a 12 month agreement . When I never signed anything.

      I set up service with Alta Pest Control on the 2nd of August, 2024. The salesman promised they would be out every 30 days to spray for bugs and pests. They did the initial spray on that day. On the 10th of September I called Alta Pest Control to find out when my next service day was. They had no appointment set claiming they were to come out once a quarter. I informed the lady on the phone that I was promised every 30 days. She made an appointment for the 18th of September. Today (the 18th) I came home to a sorry I missed you note on my front door. I still have mosquitos and other bugs all around my house. I called their office and got told they are behind and appointments wont be at the same time every month. I am paying for a 30 day service but am getting serviced beyond 45 days and the chemical they are using is not working. Cancelation fee is $500 and they arent upholding their end of the contract. They claim they havent missed any appointments but that is only true because they have not set any appointments other than when I called to complain. I want out of this contract but do not want to be charged the $500 for their shortcomings.

      On July 13, 2024, the guy claimed himself manager and named ***** came to my door and other neighbor's houses. He offered a special price for the package if I choose the plan with him today. But I told him that I wanted to do only one-time service with the company and whenever I needed a service, I would call the company. I told him I didn't want to do the contract and pay monthly fees; the fee is expensive. He said no problem we could do the one-time service with a trial and he can bypass the process because he is able to do that as a manager himself, but I still have to sign all the paper online as the process, so I finished all of that signing paper work online and I made sure with him that this is going to be one-time service not the whole 18 month contract. And again, he told me, yes, it's a one-time charge. September 13, 2024, I received an email and a text that they need me to provide a credit card information. I happened to report a fraud on my card and change the new numbers and that how I found out that they have been charging my card every month, 70 dollars, after the one-time service in July. I called the billing department and explained to them about the situation, and they told me that they weren't there with the conversation and if I want to cancel the plan, I will have to pay 250 dollars for early cancellation. And if I refuse to pay the 250 dollars, they will hire a third party to collect the money. I called and texted the guys named ***** several times and he never called or texted me back. I don't want to do any business with this company and with this dishonest people. They tricked me into the contract even though I told the *** ***** several times that day, but he did it anyway. PLEASE, I just don't want anything to do with you guys no more. And you are not supposed to charge me 250 dollars for the plan termination.

      //In 2023 I was approached by a door to door salesman who told me that I could get pest control service for less than $50 a month. I signed a contract because this sounded good to me. Later in *************************************************************************************** they could defer my account so I said that was fine. Early 2024 I was told I could defer my account a second time but then I was charged for the next month. I asked for them to fix this but they said that they made a mistake and I was not actually allowed to defer a second time. I complained but got no help. I went ahead and paid until we moved on 8/30/24 at which point I called and asked to cancel. The customer service *** told me all I needed to do was pay the balance I owed then I could cancel. They also asked me if I wanted to get one more service before canceling which I said NO. When I called back on 9/9/24 to pay the balance and cancel I saw that I had an additional charge but had not received an additional service... They then told me if I wanted to cancel I had to pay for the service that I did not receive and that otherwise I had to continue service until the contract was up. I looked at the contract and did not see any specific conditions about moving from a service address.
