I found Complete Tree Services, Inc. (herein after referred to as CTSI) on ****.com and had them come out on site to provide a quote for trimming several trees, and removing 2 (the man's name was ******).We came to an agreement, and he sent a crew out to do the job on March 27, 2023. When they announced they were done, I noticed the one tree was not trimmed as agreed upon, by ******. This led to me having a discussion with him over one of the worker's cell phone (personally, I think the workers told ****** they were running out of room to put the trimmings in their truck, and were hoping to avoid coming back). ****** tried to back out of our agreement, but conceded in the end, and told the crew to complete the job as agreed. In the end, they had to leave behind a heavy duty dolly that could no longer fit in the truck (with the additional trimmings), and they had to come back for it the next day, which they did. The very next day, I noticed that a concrete bench which was sitting under a tree that had been trimmed in the back of the house, had a couple of pieces broken off and laying on the ground. I called ****** immediately, who insisted there was no way the tree trimming had anything to do with it. I knew better, but did not pursue further. When I was putting up outdoor Christmas lights this past Christmas, I noticed that my rain gutters (beneath another tree that had been trimmed in the front of the house) were damaged. This was a very upsetting discovery as they were just replaced 2 years prior with the roof. There is no other way the rain gutter (with debri screens) could have been damaged, except by a tree branch falling on it. I texted ****** (with a picture of the damage) and explained that I did not intend to let this go (as I did with the bench). I have not heard back from him. Now I am requesting they replace the damaged rain gutter (and associated debri screens) as well as the garden bench.Business response

We appreciate your feedback, unfortunately the concrete bench we had mentioned to you that it was damaged prior to starting.
I am surprised to hear from you almost a year later regarding the front gutter damage.
Its located by your front main entry, which is ****** to see on the daily basis.
Keep in mind trees drop limbs all the time, this could have happened at any time.
If it had happened by our crew, the ******* would have addressed it right away, we dont like to hide things like this from our clients.
It looks like minor damage that a couple of hundred would fix it.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The business stated they were surprised to see my complaint nearly a year later. Trust me, nobody was more surprised than me to discover the issue with the rain gutter. Although the damage was on the front of the home, on the same side as the entry, it is to the far left side, and not directly above the entry way. I suppose I could have seen it sooner if so, but even then, it is not as obvious when looking at it from below eye-level. It was only when I was up at eye level to attach Christmas lights that the issue became obvious to me. I can also say that it does not feel any better to be called a liar, nearly a year later, regarding the concrete bench damage. They are litterally stating that the damage existed before they did their work. That is absoluterly not true, and I resent hearing it... again.
I actually enjoy writing positive reviews when I can, which is the biggest reason why I haven't ****** a review to date (regarding the dissagreement with the bench), but I think I see the way this is going, and I feel it will be my civic duty to warn others of this type of business practice, if the best they are prepared to do in cases like this is to deny any responsibility and call the customer a liar.

I told him in person what I wanted done. Even clarified further in an email the day of and provided pictures at 7:51 am to try to prevent any possible problems. They didn't follow directions at all did it like they wanted, quickly and get out of there I had pavers in the ground in a patio area that I wanted them to lay a weed screen under them in the ground. No they pulled up the pavers laid the weed screen on top of the ground and the pavers on top. So now they are not secure not following the previous pattern and they are a hazard to walk on. The weed screen shows through some places where there are no pavers. The green edging is all wonky not straight lines like it was before it. I want it like it was before but weed screen in the ground and the pavers in the ground so it is a secure surface to walk on again. They even have a random brick in there I am utterly shocked that they expect to get paid for this horrible work. Do these workers have any previous work experience? Really upset about the plants that they killed in my flower bed that I explicitly told them not to cover them with dirt or weed screen. Took off the weed screen this morning and saw my little plants gone that I have been watering for months in this Texas heat to keep them alive and they just rake them up and throw them away. Not happy with their work product. I wanted to reschedule to when I could be there to make sure this was done right the first time. But Carlos ****** was super anxious to get this job done. Now I am here suffering for their poor work product. Plus my plants I have to replace that they killed in my flower bedBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 16, 2022/09/08) */ Client called, we scheduled to meet with her and got approval to start. FYI this was a messy yard with hardly no attention given. Everything was going well, until she started texting me saying she was upset and very soon started offending us using unnecessary language. Continued to receive text after text after text on how we didn't know what we were doing etc. She would never answer any of my calls, I tried to return to correct any issue, but she wouldn't care. We left the property better than we found it. FYI client started making up different excuses just so that she wouldn't have to pay.
