Its been very frustrating trying to set up my online account for my car payment. I have already missed a payment because of it. I had an account with them before for a prior car years before, so when I go to set up the account it says I already have one registered. When I try to log into the account, it sends me one time passcode and once I enter it, it stays on that screen and never goes to another screen. I called Santander on these dates: Oct 4th Oct 18th Nov 1st Nov 14th The first three times, someone assists me and it does not work. Im on the phone with them for a long time while they try to figure it out. They then come back on the phone and say that they have to transfer this to their IT department and will get back to me. They never do get back to me. The call on November 1st they said they were going to delete my account, but I guess it never happened because I am still stuck at square one. Nov 14th call - I call them twice and get someone and they cant hear me. It is NOT my phone because I tried calling another phone, so it must be on their end. I made the payment on the phone, but it is so frustrating to do it on the phone and having to go through all the prompts instead of seeing it online. Id rather do it online and set up my payment ahead of time so I dont have to keep calling every two weeks to make my payment. Even pressing the options on phone was frustrating, it wouldnt recognize the number I press. I cannot even send an email or contact them ONLINE because I need to get signed into MY ACCOUNT, so I am FORCED to call them and be placed on hold forever. It is SUPER FRUSTRATING !!! I feel like they should prolong my loan and show me as current. Im having a difficult time catching up financially. I just WANT ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT ONLINE !!! WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!Review from Saint B

*************. Would not recommend to anyone. They do not care about their customers at all. Will take weeks to deposit one check and this has happened on several occasions. I am leaving this bank and advise anyone looking for a reliable banking experience to look elsewhere.Review from Adrian P

I honestly thought that I was one of the few that had issues with this company. During Covid I had suffered a pay cut and trying to get help from customer service and the supposed department they transfer you to for help in extending is like pulling teeth!! During Covid after speaking to multiple representatives these people still ruined my credit with late payments. Basically ruining the chances of me getting a home. They wait until you are 3 and 4 payments behind to assist with an extension! By the time these people help the extension doesnt even help you to get back on your feet. Stay away from this company, these people act as though they have never been through hard times. Unfortunately I had to repair the radiator in the car and later my air conditioner went out so two separate issues so here I again talking to these people. Stay away from this company.Review from Henry L

I got a personal loan from Santander and set up ******* to make monthly payments. Then I paid off the full principal balance ahead of schedule. After that payment, there was a remaining balance only for accrued interest for one month ($131) but their system generated a statement with amount due $386 (the regular monthly payment amount). I called them and was reassured that Autopay was turned on and I didn't need to do anything - Autopay would only take from my account the actual remaining balance. About 60 days later I get a notification from my CapitalOne app that a late payment has been reported and my credit score is taking a dive. Turns out Santander's Autopay did not take the money from my account, a clear technical error on their part. I made a manual payment to pay off the $131, and I have asked them to correct the credit reporting to remove the late payment because it was their system that made the error, not me. They said I have to talk to the credit agencies directly and dispute the late payments with them but the credit bureaus don't believe everyone who just shows up and says "it wasn't my fault". When I tried to apply for a mortgage and the late payment ruined my score, my mortgage broker said "ask for a letter from Santander explaining that the late payment reports were in error and I actually paid everything off. ******** could then rely on this letter to improve my offered mortgage rate." I called Santander to ask them to issue such a letter and they told me they would do it within a few business days. I just opened the mail and their letter simply lists the dates from their payment system when the payment was originally due and when I finally paid it. It still notes that I was late. You were supposed to take responsibility and own up to your technical issue and FIX IT. **************** says they are reviewing my file but nobody on the phone understands how their own tech works.Review from Ada G

On September, Santander waived a late payment because they never notified me of annual fee. This annual fee is $49 and the late fee was $62. The day after waiving this fee, they decided that they would report me to the ************* for late payment. I called the next day and closed my credit card. On October 22nd. I received another notification of a late payment from Santander. This is after my account was closed. I have called numerous times and they just transfer me from person to next, with no answer. The last person I spoke with had me on the phone for 1 hour and **************************************************************************** a letter that stated that my account was closed. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she proceeded to put on hold and came back on the line again with no answer. Then she asked is this a debit or credit card. I can't believe the incompetence of this company. They cannot even provide me with a statement that says I no longer bank with them. For a $49 fee they have ruined my credit from 763 to 626. It is ridiculous that they can treat people like this and still have a business. This is the worse service I have gotten in my whole life.Review from Robert D

Its known that Santander has high interest rates. From that, the customer base is a pool of habitual or situational credit risk individuals. I landed in this pool due to situational reasons. Unfortunately I judged Santander as not having the same Echelon of service afforded by higher reputable know lenders. I was wrong. Santanders service and help is just as great as one would say Navy ********************, and their customer service is SO UNDERRATED. After paying off a chapter 13 bankruptcy with my creditors receiving 100% of what I owed, I knew I would be faced with high interest everywhere I went for credit services. Though Santander services individuals no one wants to take a chance on, Santander never treats you like in that manner. They help with dignity for both parties. Thank you Santander, I know its not much, but my 1 family is grateful for all you have done for us these past 2 years. When my credit is back on top, maybe I can aquire a lower interest rate ??Review from Nicole J

In the last couple weeks Santander identified and provided factual proof that my rights were violated in relation to a repossession as multiple required notices were sent to an address that I no longer resided at per evidenced by where the vehicle was picked up they had my address. the right to cure was sent to a different previous address knowingly. and also by sending subsequent notices to an address that I never lived at. They said the items werent returned as undeliverable so my letter wasnt valid but factual proof provided by this company shows it was not received by me so now who knows who has access to my personal information. A completely wrong address has also now been reported to a *** due to the company providing it in violation of my **** right 15 USC 1681e (b) to assure maximum possible accuracy. In addition I gave my address in a **** ******************************** utilized that address in their October response months after the fact further verifying that the addresses they sent letters to were incorrect but I also never received the October dated letter in the mail it was only updated in the **** platform so I dont know if they send letters at all. The incorrect addresses caused a violation of my rights & due to the error I received no validation of all required notices and I stated that in 2 **** complaints. When I told them the incorrect addresses validated my claims that I did not receive all notices in a timely and proper manner based on what they sent as I just received them in October. They read the second **** complaint & closed it as a duplicate even though it was indeed not a duplicate it was a factual representation that my rights were violated based on HOW THEY RESPONDED., a deficiency claim cannot be valid unless ALL required notices were received. So I have now consulted an attorney because I honestly dont know what else to do. I have been hung up on and ignored multiple times, in addition to the notices that I do not and have not receivedReview from Whitney D

DO NOT FINANCE WITH THIS "BuSiNeSs"They have very predatory practices- extremely high interest rates and inability to negotiate despite credit score- and they don't allow you to even ask questions to clear up any confusion. Attempting to chat with *someone* about the confusing payment policies and hidden fine print- even on what to do regarding any sort of payment disruption, will result in your account either being logged out and the chat history wiped, or simply being booted from the chat with no email to say they even acknowledge that you had a question. On top of an abhorrently designed website, extremely uninformed live chat agents, and a PATHETIC excuse for a FAQ page, I don't know why I didn't look up this company before accepting a financing offer for my vehicle. If I could rate this any lower, I would. They honestly need to go out of business. I've seen a middle schooler design a better website, fyi.Review from Lawrence V

I settled my loan in full on September 5, 2004. I was informed that I would receive a refund check for the overage amount. As of October 17, I have not received the check. I have spoken to several representatives and managers who have assured me that the check is forthcoming, but it has now been 42 days since I paid off the loan and I am still waiting for the refund.
