Advertising Review

On June 7, 2022, BBB Serving Southern Piedmont and Western North Carolina, asked the company's headquarters to substantiate advertised claims. Specifically, the business advertises various services intended to treat different musculoskeletal conditions, pain and claims its services are an "alternative to surgery."

Additional follow-up attempts were made via postal mail, email, and telephone. BBB's Code of Advertising requires advertisers to be prepared to substantiate such claims through independent scientific testing.

On September 22, 2022, the business responded to BBB. After reviewing the information provided, BBB determined that the claims at hand were not substantiated. BBB requested that the business modify advertising claims to reflect available substantiation or discontinue a large number of advertised claims.

Notably, the business has not conducted any product testing on its products and referred to several studies which would not constitute competent and reliable scientific substantiation.

The following are examples, but not a comprehensive list or advertised claims for which BBB requested substantiation:

~ "Do you suffer from pain? Have you been told surgery is your only option? There is a better alternative..."
~ "Avoid Surgery with Our Local Alternative Pain Treatments"
~ "treatments can help knee joints to heal and repair without surgery; reduce pain with few side effects; have
~ "not only will you recover faster, but you'll also find that you're less prone to re-injury."
~ "Regenerative therapy can help to strengthen existing tendons, ligaments, and even cartilage"
~ "speeding up recovery and lessening inflammation and pain"
~ "Safer, more practical, and effective remedy for musculoskeletal pain."
~ "Restore hair follicle density and improve hair thickness" or "restoring and improving hair follicle density and thickness"
~ "Treatments are an alternative to or superior than surgery, painkillers, steroid or gel injections"
~ "Patients discontinue prescription or over the counter pain medication"
~ "Pain was decreased 50-100%"
~ "Patients avoid joint replacement"

BBB's Code of Advertising states, "The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB."

Section 34 of BBB's Code of Advertising also states, "Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data."

As of October 10, 2022, the above advertising claims remain unsubstantiated. BBB urges consumers to speak with a licensed medical professional before doing business with QC Kinetix.
