This property, The Barcelona at ******************** in **********, ** is managed by Catalyst Multifamily. I moved out in July 2024. Completed and honored my 1 year lease agreement in full. During the 1 year term, I would every month have to dispute double charges and additional fees that Catalyst Multifamily would try and nickel and dime me with double fees on trash, valet trash, pest control, water, city water, city sewer and unknown misc. fees. These fees would add up to over $220-$250 extra every month on top of the rent. I would always get excuses that it is previous months that were being applied. Horrible communication with management and corporate. What crossed the line is when I moved out, there was a deposit of $250 that I paid upfront. They took out $210 in move out fees. Keep in mind I had already paid all the extra fees every month upfront and fulfilled my lease agreement. They admitted there would be a $40 deposit refund check mailed to me at my new address. Here we are in Nov. 2024 and still no deposit check refund, no communication, no attempt. 5 months! When I would follow up multiple times in person, the excuse was it was their system. Even sent a email to corporate over $40. No response. They pretty much stole my deposit refund. There is nothing that can be done with these Multifamily property companies. If they get to much negative attention, they will just change the company name and continue doing dirty business. Stay away from The Barcelona at ******************** managed by Catalyst Multifamily. Not worth it, horrible experience!

My rent is listed $1,880 plus late fees, I had rent relief until my last month, it covered half my last month in the home and my rent was to be prorated due to my lease ending on the 21st. Proper notice was given via email which I do have. There was also a cleaning fee of $1980.00. I would like to see the breaking down why it was almost $2,000 to clean the home. I also Have email proof that I emailed And received a response back that I had vacated the home and provided my forwarding address about a week prior to the lease ending - so a month to month charge or lease breakage fee should not be there. The rent listed on my lease was $880. I do Still have a copy of the lease if I need to provide it. I have asked repeatedly for someone to contact me to get this resolved and cannot reach anyone by phone, email, etc. INCLUDING corotate

I've been a tenant since before Catalyst Multifamily Management took over and it has gone downhill since, also avoid their sister company MBP ******** **** I do not recommend nor do I suggest renting from this company. You are just a number to them and nothing more. I was recently informed that this company uses a third party for maintenance which is why repairs don't get done or take way longer than usual. They don't have someone on maintenance at ********* on staff but they have one person that tends to three properties in the downtown ********** area. We have never had a leasing agent, assistant manager, or property manager for more than a month. We consistently get someone new every month or week which is why it can be frustrating when you voice your concern because the person you just told is no longer there and have to explain yourself to the new hire and it's a never-ending cycle. Catalyst Multifamily Management will cut corners and nickel and dime you, we don't even have an emergency number its just our regular leasing office number so if you have an emergency like we just did on 3/18/23 you are out of luck and left on your own to resolve the issue. Also please avoid MBP ******** *** it is their sister company and is just as horrible as Catalyst Multifamily Management.

This is the worst property management I've ever dealt with. There is no communication between employees. Any repair is a giant hassle to go through requiring multiple work orders and calls on my part. It took 4 months to fix our ac in the summer. Direct managers won't give corporate office phone numbers. Emails and calls are ignored. False eviction notices have been placed on multiple houses in the area several times. After 5 months there is still old equipment that still hasn't been picked up. I could go on and on. I can speak on the behave of my family and ALL of our current neighbors to avoid any property managed by this company at all cost.

This company was garbage and inhumane. They bought out a complex in which people have live for 5, 10, and 20+ years then immediately raised the rent by nearly 2x. Forcing families and elders to either come up with the money or be kicked out right away. Speaking of ***************************************** in ***********. It appears now that they no longer manage the property (sold it) and now I'm having trouble finding a valid phone number or email to contact them by. There is no one to answer the phone on any of the extensions provided. They forwarded a balance to collections so i have to speak with them in order to lease another apartment but I'm not even positive this business is still in operation. I need to talk to them in order to settle or dispute a debt.

I had the absolute WORST experience with this managment company, filed an application one of thier properties ********** place and they took $150 and then I spent two month waiting on then to finish my Application and process it. Spoke to multiple people in management which were completely incompetent and rude. The managment company then up and left and left multiple people hanging with half processed applications with sticky notes on them for the new management to figure out. Let an absolute MESS and everyone scrambling because not one person in this company could do thier job right. Not only that, their website was completely messed. Did not have any accurate information and no one knew anything about which units were available or what was ever going on. The corporate women named ****** is an absolute nightmare and unhelpful and hateful to speak to and can not do her job right to save her life. They ran this place into the ground with thier absolute poor management skills. Now, this company is committing fraud by claiming they rendered a non refundable service and taking application fees and pocketing them without EVER completing these applications to tenants and leaving them high and dry. Absolute garbage company. Disgusting.
