On 03/03/22, I had endometriosis surgery. Dr Reddy informed me that surgery was the best method and the only one to determine whether or not I really had endometriosis. The week before the scheduled surgery, I was advised I would need to cover $1200 for her portion. I paid the amount. When I submitted the amount to my insurance, they tried to reach our to Dr Reddy's office. My claim ended up being denied because they couldn't get ahold of Dr Reddy's office. They sent 3 letters and never got a response. Earlier this week, a claim was submitted through my insurance for $9000. My portion of the surgery was supposed to only be $172. The office then claimed that the $1200 was for "a private room" when I didn't have a private room. It was an outpatient surgery so I was never even in a private area. When I called the office, they kept telling me "we'll take care of it" and would hang up on me. When my insurance was finally able to get ahold of them, they said the $1200 was because at the time of the surgery, I hadn't paid my complete deductible. However, now that my deductible has been paid, the insurance claim says I only owe $172. Dr Reddy's office refuses to refund me the rest of the money they owe me which would be about $1028. The insurance called Dr Reddy's office to inquire about the rest of the money. Dr Reddy's office kept giving them excuses as to why they can't refund my money.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/08/03) */ Due to HIPPA we cannot respond to specific complaints about any persons care/claim. In general, claims to insurance companies have to be submitted within 90 days of service. Once insurance receives the claim, they have to review the validity of the service, review records when needed, and then adjucate the claim. Occasionally, this may take upto 180 days. Even upon submission of a clean claim to insurance, it is the INSURANCE who is responsible for delayed payment. Unfortunately, insurance companies put their interests above those seeking healthcare and those providing healthcare services.
