I recently visited Christian Brothers Automotive South ******* with high hopes after seeing their supposedly stellar reviews and local business vibes portrayed on their website. However, my experience couldn't have been more disappointing.Firstly, I brought in my Dodge Caravan 2018, which had ******* miles on it, due to an intermittent whining sound. They demanded a hefty $200 just to investigate the issue. This is exorbitant, especially when compared to similar diagnostic services offered elsewhere in *******. For instance, ********* charges a mere $50, and Caliber Auto only $100.Feeling reluctant to dish out such an unreasonable sum, I opted instead to have them change my transmission fluid and air cabin filter. To my dismay, they charged me a whopping $522 for these basic services. But the real kicker came when they suggested I spend an additional $3,593 to fix the initial whining noise problem. This seemed like a blatant attempt to squeeze more money out of me. Receipts are attached. To add insult to injury, when I went to pick up my vehicle, I noticed scraches along the side that was not there when I dropped it off. When I brought this to the manager's attention, they showed me a picture supposedly taken before servicing, claiming the scratches was already there. However, upon closer inspection and comparison, it was clear that the scratch had appeared during their possession. Despite presenting photographic evidence, the manager dismissed my concerns, attributing the difference in lighting to the discrepancy.Furthermore, it was incredibly frustrating to receive a call later from the manager claiming they found a clearer picture on the mechanic's camera, insinuating that I was in the wrong. This further highlights their lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction.

7/3/23 4:38 CDT CBA Repaired a car for my ex-wife / daughter that they had quoted me a price on of $600. When the repair was done the price was $1,600. I thought surely they did more but it was just the alternator repair that was quoted. There were some other additions, battery, towing, etc, which I am not concerned about. My concern was they quoted me $192 in labor and charged me $620. Supposedly the labor for a 2009 ***** calls for 4 hours of labor and a 2010 calls for 1 hour. When they sent me a quoted they misquoted the year. This is clearly an intentional mistake to use this excuse for price difference...or at the very least a mistake that should be owned up to.*******, the service manager refused to do anything at all except said "Sorry my technician quoted you the wrong year"I called around multiple shops and got quotes for the 2009 alternator repair, all were in range ******* with the HIGHEST labor rate being $270. I even asked if there would be a difference in labor on a 2009 vs 2010 and was told no.Not acceptable. I am seeking a credit for the erroneous labor. At the very least I should be credit back the difference of the highest quote I recv'd at $270 which would be $350. Honestly, the full difference in the quoted amount $192 vs $620 should be refunded which is $428.I find it suspect that the original quote for $620 total, and the labor alone for $620 on the actual repair.

Business called me, owner is polite and respectful offered to make it right.

Turns out the error was originally my fault for putting the wrong engine size. Even though business did make some mistakes on their end, the cause was initially mine. Apologize and redact the complaint.

On May 8th, 2023, I took my car to the Christian Brother's on *** * ** ******* ** because the car was shaking, the check engine light was on, and the EPC light was on. I was working with Ronald (Service Advisor) and Don N****** (Assistant Service Manager) who informed me that they would be able to diagnose the car by noon that same day. They finally had an update (if you could even call it that) at 5pm and stated that the diagnosis found some issues but they had to continue the diagnosis until the next day, Tuesday May 9th. On Tuesday, May 9th, Ronald stated that the diagnosis was complete and that he was working with my warranty company to determine payment. On Wednesday, May 10th, I called and spoke to Ronald to get a price breakdown for the $1200 quote. I was told that the warranty would cover the water pump but declined the engine repair which was odd since it is an engine warranty and the work would take 2 hours and that my car would be ready for pick up Thursday, May 11th. I called the warranty company and they said that the work was described to them as cleaning the valves not engine repair. On Thursday, May 11th, I called to confirm the time for pickup and was told that the work had not begun because they were waiting on a part and it would be done by the end of the day first thing Friday at the latest. On Friday, May 12th, I called to confirm pickup again was told by Ronald that no work had been started on the car because he was waiting on payment from warranty. I called warranty and they said that they never received a bill. I called Ronald back and he said that he was still doing a diagnosis and couldn't send the bill contrary to what he originally stated. I responded and informed him that I would be picking up my car and he said that I couldn't because they started working. And, that they ran another test and my bill would be $1000. I declined the additional work and he said I could not do that because it was already started.... FRAUD. Running up bill.
