Absolutely the worst merchant out there. Got service through them in 2020 with Bluedog now fortispay. I had so many issues with their service and had to call tech support anytime I wanted to login to my account because of some issue on their end. In 2021 they processed a credit card transaction for a little over 20k. I called and got prior authorization before I ran the customers credit card. I called after not receiving the funds after a few days, and was told they wouldnt transfer the money to my account because I wasnt approved for the amount. I told them they could refund the customers credit card since they were unwilling to release the funds to me. I was shocked to see that they charged me around $700 for the fee associated with that 20k credit card charge. I called to complain and ask why I was charged when they were unwilling to release the funds and was told because we ran the card it doesnt matter if we couldnt get you the money, you still have to pay the percentage because we do. I cancelled service in June 2022. June 2023 I get a call harassing me demanding payment for an early cancel contract fee. Turns out they had been charging me almost $100 a month for almost an entire year after I cancelled that I didnt notice. The charges had overdrafted an account I never really used so badly it caused them to close the account. I spoke with ***** at first American payment systems via email and telephone and explained all of this and she told me that she understood and said that she would look into it. Well they reported it and it hit my credit report. 86 points from their one thing. These scum bags are by far the lowest, most despicable people in their industry. ***** assured me that the charges they said I owed of around $400 would be taken off. 11 months at $100 after I cancelled, so $1100 in service fees for something I had cancelled. And then a $700 fee for a credit card charge they approved and wouldnt release funds on. Really they owe me $1800.First American Payment Systems Response

We are in receipt of your review.
At the time of you signing up with us (see your Merchant Application Agreement), your account was submitted with a $4000.00 high ticket amount. This amount goes by your credit profile and means you may not process transactions over $4000.00. A $16,290.00 American Express transaction was entered 7/16/2021. This is way outside the terms of your agreement. On 7/21/2021 you advised us that you were not going to wait any longer for payment and that you would process a return to offset the sale. This sale is American Express, and we DO NOT have any control over American Express fee assessment and American Express DOES NOT refund discount rates when a return is executed. If we were to issue a refund to you for the discount rate fees, we would essentially be absorbing the fee costs on a $16,290.00 transaction. No where in our records is there a document stating any authorization was given for this transaction.
We did see that you were in talks with the *************** regarding the monies owed. You stated your account was closed in 2022. We are not showing where we received a closing letter from you. A closing letter must be received in order to close an account. There is also an early termination fee (see Terms & Condition). Since no closing letter was received, your account remained opened for processing and monthly fees incurred. A settlement offer of $295.00 was offered to you in July 2023, however, no payment was never received, and your account was placed with the credit bureau. Our offer still stands. Please contact the *************** to pay the offer amount of $295.00 as soon as possible, which in turn will change your credit information.
Sincerely,
Merchant Relations

This company is absolutely horrible. They have withheld our CC funds for 5 days without explanation. I have had to fight for our funds for 5 days now. They are very unhelpful and blame the customer. They also called one of my customers asking what they purchased and why. My customer then called me to complain about the harassment from them. Ist no one's business what my customers purchase. Be weary when doing business with this company.First American Payment Systems Response

The merchant advised us that they are going out of business in 3 weeks (8/1/2023). The sale we held was $4,836.01. Merchant approved high ticket amount on the merchant agreement (which merchant signed) was not to exceed $2,000.00. We were also told this was a custom order and they needed the funds to order parts. The cardholder advised that he was unsure when he would receive the product because the merchant would not fulfill or ship the order until she was funded on the credit card sale. We told the merchant that we cannot front her funds so she can facilitate the order and deliver to the customer at a future date. This was predicated on the fact that the merchant is going out of business in 3 weeks. If the customer had already received the product or if we could have confirmed the merchant had already shipped the product, then the merchant would have been paid. Its fronting the funds to a merchant that is going out of business, that was the issue.Review from Christina S

I would advise people to NOT USE THIS COMPANY for their merchant service needs. After being with this company for nearly three years (and never missing a payment), I had a change in banking information and when they tried to draft my monthly fee, it was rejected. Within a couple of days, I got an email from their collections department stating they had closed my account and were charging me over $800 in collection fees and early termination fees. The person in collections I spoke to was rude and refused to let me reopen my account. This is how they treat their customers.. no warning and not one bit of compromise or understanding. They should be ashamed of themselves.First American Payment Systems Response

Delayed processing 3 transactions on a card. Required me to provide proof of services, Billing address and phone number associated with card plus copies of the past 3 months statements of my bank account. Ok. Called customer and he decided to just make ********************** with a check. Called them back to cancel the transactions and was informed that all 3 had already been paid to them. One transaction was paid to me and they wouldnt pay the other two until I provided them with the information they asked for. **** approved the payment yet it wasnt good enough for them. This was not the first time they have delayed payment to me.First American Payment Systems Response

Merchant was approved with $1500 HT and ran two transactions on 08/10/2022 to the same credit card totaling $2,443.80. There was a previous transaction ran to the same credit card on 08/08/2022, bringing the total to the credit card to $4,558.61. We reached out to the merchant and spoke with ******* and **** and they both agreed to send documents. We later got an inbound call from the merchant who advised us to reverse the transaction. It was the merchants decision to reverse the transactions.Sincerely,Merchant RelationsReview from Enrique D

We have a little food truck business and we were looking for process business services. We came across First American Payment System and talking to the sales person , we ask him specifically if we cam test their system for a couple weeks to made sure to be a match to our business and if we didnt like it we can canceled and return the equipment without any penalties and the answer from the sells person was NO PROBLEM.Two weeks later we decided to return and cancel the service with them.We pay fee for the return of the equipment and talked to the sales person again asking him if everything was fine and canceled and he said YES!our mistake, we hired an accountant who was paying our bills and didnt see the recurring charge of First American System that NEVER STOP.At the beginning of this year we changed banks and this week they are sending us messages and calling me asking to pay 495 dls immediately .Saying that if we dont pay up the 495 dls 4 pm today )4/13/2022 my husband will be send to collections damaging his good credit score.Today we talked with ***** for the first time who was a rude and with very bad actitud lady, very unprofessional and told us screaming that we had until 4p.m to pay or else.We ask her to send us the contract that we never sign.We will talk with our lawyer .WE RECOMMENDED NEVER TO DO BUSINESS WITH First American System.THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, AND NEVER KEEP THE PROMISES.We will send this letter to the BBB and hope the more business knows and less people will not fall into their trap.THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY.First American Payment Systems Response

This complaint was addressed on 4/15/2022 stating "merchant signed and agreed to a 6 month term and processed for 4 out of the 6 months. We have no information as t why they stopped processing. Merchant did not send in a closing letter as stated in the contract, therefore, the account remained open. We have since waived the termination fee with all other fees and closed the account. I am a tax company . When I met the salesman it was my first year being open and he stated he wanted to help me and his company had the best prices . I NEVER used the credit card processing machine at ALL. NOT ONE TIME because COVID came . They started taking payment out of my account and my business was already closed because it was not essential . I called the salesman and advised him that I wanted him to come get the machine because i would not be able to use it do to covid . He said okay tried to talk me into keeping it and finally agreed to come and get it . He made arrangements with me to come pick it up and was a NO SHOW . Then texted me a week later asking could we talk, at this point I advised him that I have only had the machine for a week and wanted him to come and get it and terminate my account because I could not use the machine . He hung up on me and months later this ended up on my credit report for $800.00 . I reported it fraud because the account was made in my business name and I told him i no longer wanted the account and they actually verified the information and it is still showing on my credit report as if i owe it . At this point I have contacted my lawyer and we are in the process of filing legal documents because this is horrible business practice and it is stealingFirst American Payment Systems Response
