Caring Transitions moved me from ***********, ***** to *******, ***** in March 2023. I have been trying to resolve my complaint with them since then. My cost was $9,700.00, $1,700.00 more than quoted. Services promoted on the website & in the move proposal were not actually available. I got no help selling or discarding items even though this is a primary service promoted on their website. I was charged $300.00 for a full day of space planning but only received a few hours of consultation. I was not refunded for excess packing material. I was charged for 2 trips by truck because they used a 26 ft UHaul truck, not a moving van. I was charged $2,850.00 for Unpack/Resettlement although I got no help with resettlement. On move day an employee asked for furniture I was discarding & after loading 5 large items for his own use, told me the truck was too full for the rest of my items & that I had to move them in my own vehicle. I had to load 2 large mirrors & more in my vehicle. They did not bring a cooler for my refrigerated items so I had to move those myself. My home was left littered with debris. The manager, *********************, never met time commitments to follow up with me. It took 2 months to get a small reimbursement for one broken item. There was damage to 6 other items that could not be replaced or repaired. ********************* said that I should replace the items with something that would make do even though I pointed out that I had spent hours shopping for ******************* could be found. I asked for monetary compensation so that I could try to work this out in my own ********** & he refused. ********************* showed poor business practices, poor communication, lack of follow up & absolute lack of ************************** for my needs.I contacted the companys headquarters but they could not help since franchise is independently owned.I am 75 years old & have suffered physical & emotional distress because of *********************' handling of this move.
