I hired them to install a roof. Upon doing so they failed to install drip edge and a dryer exhaust vent in accordance with **************, Texas building code. I attempted to have them correct the problem but communication broke down and wasn't going anywhere. After hiring another contractor to correct the mistakes, I sent them a letter with final payment less the amount paid to remediate the problem. They are threatening me with felony theft of services, liens, and overall general threats via email. They have now said they are increasing the price I owe them well above the agreed upon price and overall trying to strong arm more money out of me after they breached the contract. They did a similar tactic with my neighbor who started to use them at the same time. I have copies of all our communications as well as the their communications with my neighbor who they also threatened in a similar fashion with those communications attached as well.Business response

************************ hired IRST to represent him to his insurance company which IRST did. This resulted in IRST getting his hail claim approved and IRST completed his roof replacement in accordance with his insurance companies statement of loss report in full.
************************ believes that IRST installed an improper dryer ventilation box on his roof however, the exhaust vent he is referring to was already installed on his roof prior to his roof being replaced and was untouched by IRST as it requires a licensed HVAC technician to remove and replace it. In addition it was undamaged and therefore left in place as he had it. This was not an error made by IRST at all.Additionally, ************************ opted to pay for a lesser expensive insurance policy which does not cover building code upgrades for drip edge. He was informed of this and when given the estimate of $500 which was merely the cost of materials and the small labor charge for the installation crew to install the drip edge, he informed IRST that he would be happy to pay this expense himself and that was scheduled to be done the same week. The day after the drip edge was scheduled to be installed, IRST received a text from ************************ requesting that no one from IRST was to enter onto his property or they would be charged with criminal trespassing. All attempts were made to reconcile with ************************ however he had apparently hired someone he knew to complete the installation of his drip edge and replace his pre-existing dryer exhaust vent.
************************ decided to figure up what he felt he owed which was not in line with his final balance owed for all work completed for him per his signed contractual agreement with IRST.
When ************************ refused to pay his remaining balance owed for work completed on his home he was given a final opportunity to pay his balance before legal proceedings were taken and additional legal expenses were added.
The increased amount owed by ************************ is merely a reflection of the filing fee and attorney fee required to collect the final balance owed which was thousands of dollars. He has yet to pay his bill as any responsible homeowner would and has resorted to slander as his defense. This is unfortunate as it is always the goal of IRST to not only meet but exceed the expectations of each and every customer we have.
While ********************** strives to satisfy every customer we have, it is sometimes impossible to satisfy such a customer as ************************ when he refuses to be responsible for his own actions and obligations laid out in his signed contractual agreement with IRST.
Regretfully,*************************

I am rejecting this response because:IRST has yet to provide a reconciliation for what they are alleging is owed. I previously attached the agreed upon contract and underlying insurance statement supporting the amounts owed to IRST. I have also attached numerous communications from ****************** that contradict his response herein.
Regards,
