On June 29, 2022, BBB Serving North Central Texas requested that the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue its advertised claims that the business will pay or waive required insurance deductibles for consumers. The company advertises "satisfaction guaranteed" but fails to disclose any terms and conditions. BBB requested the business confirm all physical locations. Lastly, the business falsely claims to be a BBB Accredited Business.

The Foreword to the BBB Code of Advertising states "In all instances, advertisers, agencies and media should also be sure that they are in compliance with local, state, federal and provincial laws and regulations governing advertising."

Notably, the Texas Department of Insurance and BBB NCTX have both issued press releases to alert industry professionals that the Department of Insurance has new stricter rules prohibiting businesses from paying any portion of required deductibles on behalf of consumers.

The BBB Code of Advertising states that, "The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any claims or offers made before publication or broadcast and, upon request, present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or the Better Business Bureau."

The BBB Code of Advertising also states, "Advertisers should only use "satisfaction guarantee," "money back guarantee," "free trial offer," or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request. When "satisfaction guarantee" or similar representations are used in advertising, any material limitations or conditions that apply to the guarantee must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed."

While BBB does not enforce or interpret the law, nor do we provide legal advice, BBB requested that the business substantiate that its advertisements were permitted, or discontinue the claims if substantiation could not be provided.

As of July 29, 2022, the business has failed to respond to BBB's requests for advertising substantiation. On June 28, 2022, BBB requested that Auto Dent Pros Inc. cease its unauthorized use of BBB trademarks. Although the business was initially unresponsive to our request, the business has since removed the infringement in question. As of September 20, 2022, the business has modified its advertisements to comply with BBB's request.
