They over charged me and despite me showing them the obvious extra charges they refuse to admit that they made a mistake. Its like arguing with a child who just wants to win meanwhile in a single mom who this took a hard hit on. In addition my car was hit and ran and I had to have it in the ahop for 3 weeks during which would be my normal time to have my device calibrated. I asked if I could have the calibration date changed just a couple days because I wouldnt physically be able to move my car until it was fixed. I let them know 2 weeks before my calibration date. They said nah not our problem so then I had to pay for late fees and to tow the car to a calibration center costing me hundreds of dollars. They then over charged me another 300 dollars and have given me the run around trying to get a manager. These companies are really good about chasing people down for money but the minute they mess up or owe anything you cant get ahold of anyone. ***** this company at all costs they dont care about their clients whatsoever just about money.Review from Anthony T

Smart start gave me a lockout srvc. My calibration date is not untill 3 weeks from now. I called and they confirmed I should not be in a lockout so they are making me pay to get a code to unlock it and I have to take it to a shop to get it recalibrated to fix it. They will do these kind of things to get extra money. The guy on the phone told me I have to dispute it. This company along with intoxaloc is a scam. Im very disappointed this is a requirement . The system over charges you and customer service will not help you . I believe this is a scam and take advantage of the people who are require by LAW to use this service.Review from Whitney L

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! WORST COMPANY EVER!!! This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with! They are constantly sending me emails that I owe money for this and owe money for that when I had just paid my bill. They charge for every little thing they can 100 dollars or more every time! My bill is never right. **************** is rude and never works with you! They refuse to give anyone an extension bc they miss out on charging hundreds of dollars if they do! I was charged for and was given 2 violations that were from the machine malfunctioning, I wa finally reimbursed my money but the violations never came off my record. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS!! This company is only after the money they earn from us. **************** is horrible and they do not care to pass you to a manager to help explain from their rude customer representatives. Just spent an hour and twenty two minutes for help with my balance and reschedule my appointment that has been moved to another town away from the local place Ive always gone to. The representative told me to wait the three day ***** period but we know they will give a late appointment fee because the day I missed an appointment I called immediately when I realized I wouldnt make it before they close and was told about the three day ***** but they charged me anyways and wont remove it. If you can go with another company I would go with them because there is no care to help you and to only get your money. Of course when I asked to speak with someone else to help change my appointment he switched to the automated line that did not have anyone to speak with because it was after hours. The people that work in the shop are so nice and helpful but they can not help in any way of you have issues and youll have to call the main number where the youll have to deal with unhelpful and rude customer representatives.Review from Billy S

Very bad company. During a tough time of interlock, when money is tight, customer service horrible! They were fast enough to install, but when I completed the 90 day program, they REFUSED to set my removal appointment! 8 days later, I am STILL waiting for my removal appt, which they have REFUSED to make. Meanwhile another $100 has been racked onto my account. ********************** has made a tough time even harder! Waited multiple times, 2+ hours on phone NO ANSWER. but when you want to sign up, you get a friendly operator immediately. BAD COMPANY. use IntoxalockReview from Shawn P

Smart start is a joke I've had the machine 3 months and they already have had to swap it out twice and then can not get them to send my PO an email letting her know the issue with the device which is putting a violation against me because of their POS device the customer service representative would not let me talk to a supervisor and told me that they were in a meeting then after tell her several times that I would stay on hold for a supervisor she said she couldn't leave me on hold she had other customers I repeated several times that she could go take care of her other customers and leave me on hold for a supervisor I was hung up on I'm done with smart start going intoxalok and sueing these moronsReview from Jeremy J

Smart start was installed in my vehicle per PA law to get my license. Got an email saying I missed my appointment, yet it was installed that day. Can not set up the app they insist you register to. No answer on any part of the 15 options of their phone number, except to set upna new service. Then when transferred from there since I'm already a customer, no answer. EVER! On hold for hours! PA DOT made this a law yet no company in the ************* is worthy of handling people's lives! This is my job and life and my kids lives. I'm tearing it out of my vehicle and returning it to the installation garage. If there's an emergency and I need to take my child to the emergency room I'm screwed!! As a United States citizen and according to the rights given to us I shall not be restricted transportation or quality of life due to a ******** law to make more $ off of us!! I'm sure I'll be arrested for driving but I have no choice! In this year of 2024, to be a citizen of this country to live as a free individual in the pursuit of happiness i shall travel in MY vehicle at any time without restrictions!!Especially since I wasn't even convicted of a DUI!!! My charge was civil, breach of contract with ********. Due to the fact I got over Covid-19 shortly before a cop pulled behind my utv and pulled his tazer on me for not stopping completely at a stop sign. I was not going into any hospital during covid, it was a risk I wasn't willing to take! So as a natural born US citizen, I politely ask you take this law and device and shove it!!!Review from Tamara M

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would! My husband had to hide this installed to get his drivers license. We have been through pure H*** with this company! Not long after installation, the transmission went out.. We didnt think anything of it, Soon after the engine went out. I started reading about people having engine trouble after this device was hooked up. The guy that does my husbands Calibration even said that it was rumored people were having mechanical problems after installation. Aside from us having to pay $15,000 to get my husbands truck back on the road. As soon as we did the very first day, he tried to go back to work not only could he not start his truck, but the keypad would not work. We spent a half a day troubleshooting and trying to get someone to answer the call. I even saw where they have an option where you can have an account with roadside assistance! Imagine that another way to collect money and pretty much saying we know youre gonna have trouble so lets offer this! Unbelievable!!! Im trying to figure out why theres not a class action lawsuit against this company???? We plan to reach out to lawyer. We have had enough. There is something very crooked and shady going on! They collect fees for everything, Whether youre at fault or not! Im sure they deal with a lot of people that are not on the up and up.. But this is no excuse! Good people make mistakes and they should not be punished in this way! And shame on ************** for even allowing company like this to handle accounts for people already in a vulnerable situation!Review from David R

Impossible to get a live agent to resolve any or all accounting issues. Charging fees that are not warranted. (illegal) Making it near impossible to get calibration dates for my vehicle required by court, and I'm off 3 weekdays with my work schedule. Poor communication with the courts and quite frankly this is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme to collect revenue instead of keeping those compliant with court orders.I will be filing for a hearing in the county I was convicted of a DUI with my attorney's help to get reimbursed for the fees I was charged that were not warranted.
