Paid a deposit of over $1800 to have repairs made on my boat. Failed to make repairs after stating that he was actively working on it. Went to the location and boat was still in the yard with no repairs. He said a refund would take 72 hours. It's been almost 2 weeks and he is ghosting and no refund. Stole the whole deposit and refuses to refund.Customer response

We needed some work done on our boat due to an accident that was covered by our insurance. We dropped the boat off to Dallas boat service on February of 2023. We are now in January of 2024 and the boat has still not been completed. The scope of work should have not taken more than one month. Every time I contact the owner, he gives me excuses, such as shorthanded, bankruptcy, etc. The total cost of the job was $7314.02. We paid him the down payment in the amount of $4,424.73. We feel we should be fully reimbursed the down payment and not owe him anything, as he has really not done any thing to the boat as far as complete acceptable repairs.Business response

This vessel has been completed and returned to customer. *********************** that ******************** completed were, lower unit rebuild, due to a bent prop shaft after falling off of trailer, major fiberglass and gel-coat repairs, and many services. Dallas Boat service, LLC does not believe the customer is owed a full refund or a partial refund.
