I called Air Quality Express to inspect my HVAC due to odors, knats, and moisture. The Technician arrived, and we went to the attic where he disconnected one duct from the system and found mold. He advised me that my system needed cleaning, and sanitizing a treatment to kill the mold. The mold had traveled only down one duct into the master bd however he advised the whole system would need to be cleaned and sanitized. He worked up a price and I was a bit shocked at the 2100.00 so I went over what I understood him saying was included and it was treatment for the complete unit to include ducts and vents. So I agreed because he also advised that there was a 3-year warranty as long as they could come and inspect it yearly. When he prepared the paperwork he also advised there was a fee 280 each year when they came out to keep the warranty active. The workers arrived and did the cleaning and when they were about to leave because it seemed they quickly finished I went up in the attic and asked them if they cleaned the whole unit and all ducts -They responded they had. This on 8/6 Later, on 10/05 I had to go to the HVAC system and get into it and found that part of the system was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. The drum was caked with dirt and grime and even some insulation pieces. So it appeared that Air Quality Express had only cleaned half of the system where the air goes through the ducts to the rest of the house and not anything on the intake side part of the system. When I called them about this they advised me that is what THEY consider a complete unit. What they call a complete unit and what I call a complete unit is the discrepancy. You can't have an HVAC without an intake but that wasn't cleaned only half the HVAC was cleaned. I paid 2100.00 for a complete unit clean/sanitize including all ducts. The intake portion & those ducts were not cleaned. A complete HVAC unit is a complete unit not just a portion. Buyer Beware!

My elderly dad's home has leaking vents and subsequent mold. I was planning to have it fixed for him. I had Air Quality Express come out and assess the situation and give me a quote for (an astounding) $15k, but in my desperation to have this fixed as quickly as possible, and because I am a single mom with a very busy work schedule, and no extra time to go back and forth with companies, I scheduled the work, and submitted a $3k down payment. Upon telling my dad (the homeowner) he said that was way too much and that he refused to let me have this wok done with this company. I called immediately and let them know the situation, and that I am not the homeowner, so I can't have this work done without his permission, and they are refusing to refund my $3k down payment. I just signed the contract 5 days ago, and no work has been performed. Again, I am a single mom, trying to help my widowed, elderly father, who is not in good health, and I do not have an extra $3k to give to this company for no work. I am disappointed that they are choosing to exploit me in this already difficult, expensive, and dangerous situation.

We called Air Quality Express out to inspect our vents, we just wanted a basic cleaning done for preventative maintenance since all the ducts in our home are less than 3 years old. David did the inspection and told us we have mold growth inside the hvac system/ducts and even showed us pictures of the mold. We were completely confused since everything is new. When asked how it’s possible to have that much mold in such a short time he said it might be due to an issue with not sealing the system properly when installed. After being quoted over $1700 for mold cleaning we decided to have another company come out to inspect our vents and sure enough there was ZERO mold in the hvac unit or ducts. We asked them to go back in and double check everything was sealed properly and they stated it in fact was sealed well and there is no signs of moisture in the hvac system or ducts. I have to hand it to David. When he pulled our vent cap off in the office there was a small bit of mold on the sheet rock so he must’ve thought it would be plausible to sell the idea that there is mold inside the hvac system, especially with using misleading pictures. When I asked the second company about the mold on the sheet rock they said it was surface level and they could wipe it off with their fingers. It was just the temp differential between the hot attic and cold air blowing that formed a little bit of condensation on the sheet rock since it’s exposed. They went on to open the rest of our vent caps and there was no mold on the sheet rock anywhere else except the one. Highly disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

David and his team came out and took care of us on MOTHER'S DAY... we had mold and I'm not even sure if the dcuts were ever cleaned, to be honest. But, they did AMAZING same day service and we're super grateful. I feel like prices were fairly reasonable, about the same as ARS.. I think we might have actually saved money by ARS doesn't do air duct service. They have a mold license and that's reassurance in itself. We are satisfied and highly recommend.
