We signed a contract for the purchase of windows on 7/31/2023 and placed a $4,500.00 down payment. As the contract states, we cancelled during the 3 day window by sending a picture text of signed cancellation notice to salesman as he requested. 5 weeks later and we are still trying to get full refund on the down payment. They informed us today 9/11/2023 that they will refund and charge a $300 transaction fee. This is an invented obnoxious fee. The contract's notice of cancellation, clearly states there are no penalties or obligations. There is no mention of cancellation fees. And the cancellation notice clearly states they would refund withing 10 days and we are still waiting. In the interim we contacted the company's customer service over 10 times, left messages and they never responded. The salesman did respond but he was ineffective and embarrassed. At this time, we request full refund from Gulf Coast windows.Business response

Gulf coast windows replaced 4 double hung windows in 2016 with lifetime warranty. Top half of the windows fogged. A technician came in August 2022 and took measurements for replacement. I waited 6 months for new parts. A new technician came february 2023 with only one single hung window that does not fit . It is very obvious that the first technician did not know what he was doing. He did not even realize that 4 windows need to be changed. the new technician took new measurements and I am still waiting for more than 3 months. I don't think that they are serious about replacing the windows per warranty.Business response

ORDERING PROCESS IN PLACE.
Gulf Coast Windows ordered the window for our client, due to a seal failure. Window arrived on 10/01/22 with wrong grids pattern/special window.
This order for this Window kept going on back order because grids issue- from Manufacturer. The Pandemic has placed many companies behind on their ordering. This is one of those orders. We are awaiting an ETA, which- at this time - we still do not have.
We should hear back from the Manufacturer by next week. We apologize for the delay on this particular order. We will do everything we can to make our customer happy.Gulf Coast Windows

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
They are saying that they get the windows back in October 2022 the first time. How come I did not hear back till January 2023 ?Now they say on that response that we will hear about estimated time for arrival of new windows in 1-2 weeks. I called their office on 5/18. They said that they don’t know when they are going to hear about that. They took the measurements in last February. Very frustrating to deal with this company. My windows are fogged and looks embarrassing.

We have finally located a company that can do the exact grids that are required to match and the order will be here in 10-12 weeks. We shall keep our client updated, as soon as, we hear more on the exact ETA, as this time gets closer for the actual delivery.

I have left no fewer than 4 phone messages and NO one returns my call. The windows they installed have failed and caused an estimated $16,00.00 dollars worth of water damage to my home - they have agreed to replace the windows over 6 months ago and have yet to advise me that they have them, which I found out they do have and I need an installation date and a date for their insurance adjuster to settle the damage so I can get the repairs done - at this point we are a risk for health issues from MOLD. Hoping you can assist. It seems like our Entire computer server and system was compromised during this time and we were NOT able to see this complaint; although we have responded to this client by phone and we do have all the parts ordered and have scheduled with Ms. D ***** to come out and complete this project for January 6-7, 2023.

Please be advised that the necessary repairs have not been completed; they are scheduled for January 6 and then Gulf Coast Windows will have to have their insurance company assess the extensive damage to my home caused by their faulty windows. Than and only then can this matter be resolved and my complaint removed from BBBBusiness response

This is being handled by our Insurance and this claim is still open and has not yet been closed by Insurance company, we are in fact awaiting to send in more information, at this time.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
Their insurance company only partially paid for the damages and I still am waiting for them to schedule a new inspection by Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) which is required since these replacement windows are not the same as the original ones. I cant even get them to provide me with the Specifications sheet for these windows that show they comply with TWIA requirements

In looking at the Insurance amounts being paid and the amount your insurance requested you will be receiving the following:

This Insurance will be paying: $26,141.43 (NET BEING PAID is $10,141.43 over- the amount of your request..
Please not, we do have EDP scheduling to come out and ttake care of this inspection. At this time, we are awaiting an actual ETA. The moment we have this, you will be notified.

This is a NEW Service, which Ms. Donna ***** has accepted and is aware of the date for this inspection of SERVICE.
This work has been set since 4/17/023 – The INSPECTOR has given a schedule of coming there on 6/5/2023.The other case is completely closed and has been paid out by Insurance company completely.
