I was automatically enrolled into a arrogation program with the above company automatically in the county I live in and I have since requested that I be removed from their services and as of this month's bill they still are showing up on my bill. I can not afford to be double billed for my electric.Review from Mike T

This company needs to be investigated along with many others by the ********************* I have used them as my supply carrier for decades and here we are living in " Inflation Nation" and when I spoke to one of there reps a few months ago as my rate was expiring the woman told me that the electric rates have risen nearly 3 time per kilowatt with no relief in site, and because I am on a fixed income & struggling to pay my electric bill I bought a new freezer hoping to help drop my monthly usage before the new rate kicked in. So to my dismay, after there new rate kicked in my bill went from $140.00 average to now $****** average ?? which includes my brand new energy efficient freezer ??? So I called First Energy today and found out that it was not there energy that went sky high, but in all reality it is purley Dynegy's absolute greed as First Energy said my ****** electric bill if I was using solely First Energy, that for the same amount of kilowatts I used would have been $125.00 at there current rate, so I had them cancel this rip off Dynegy Company but it takes 2 months for the billing cycle to be caught up. So, no thanks to them that I am currently lighting $75.00 per month of my money on fire with no generated heat ?? There increase between my first bill & the 2 months I am stuck will have cost me more than my brand new little freezer costed me. I am livid, and this is outright criminal !! And from my research there are many carrier's doing this to many people and this company is even charging other states even more per kilowatt..... We as consumers have absolutely no consumer protection these days and companies like this should be terminated immediately !!! This should be national news.................. ******************** in ****Dynegy Energy Services Response

This company will send you a letter in the mail and if you don't respond back they will add themselves as a third party energy provider and upcharge you a bunch of money with no additional service. This is just a flat out scam and the fact a company can tell another company to add them to your account without your consent then start over charging you is complete bs and should be illegal. When I contacted Dynegy to have their charges removed off my electric bill and have them removed as the third party energy provider, I was told they can't remove the $100 upcharge bc those services had already been rendered even though they don't actually do anything and you never agreed to do business with them in the first place. It's funny when you call to cancel and your electric bill is $150 or less for the past year with Duke Energy, they want to tell you how they're saving you money by charging you $250 a month for your electric. My bill from Duke shows Duke charges 0.031 per kwh and Dynegy charges 0.049 per kwh and they'll still try to argue that they're saving you money.Review from Misty S

If i could give 0 stars i would 100x over. My bill is normally $170 and the last 2 months i have been charged 2x over the normal amount the first month and 3x over the normal amount the 2nd month. I have been trying to get the amount they charged me taken off as I was never given a choice to switch electric company's. I have been trying to get this fixed since my October bill 2021. I have not received any call backs and I had to keep waiting for a supervisor. "All the supervisors are in a meeting" or "we do not have any supervisors available" are the excuses I've gotten every time I've called. I sat on the phone for over an hour just waiting to speak to a supervisor. They kept wanting me to just call back and I refused to hang up until I spoke o a supervisor. Well, i finally got to speak to one and they told me they would get his taken care of and IT STILL IS NOT TAKEN CARE OF! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. They are not a good company and I wish the state I lived in never chose this option as it is not helping anything. it's hindering people as they can't afford to pay it. They charged me a $140 "delivery fee" on top of the ridiculous amount they have charged for their services. Please help!Dynegy Energy Services Response

The City of Cincinnati has an opt-out electric municipal aggregation program and selected Dynegy as the electric supplier for the period of October 2021 through October 2022. The City of Cincinnati provided the customer's account number to Dynegy as an eligible resident to be included in the City of Cincinnati opt-out electric municipal aggregation program in 2021. Ohio law allows municipal aggregation, and the customer can learn more about it at https://www.puco.ohio.gov/be-informed/consumer-topics/governmental-energy-aggregation-local-community-buying-power
Ms. ******** was mailed an opt out letter explaining the Municipal Aggregation program along with the option to opt out of the program if she did not want to participate. Ms. ******** failed to opt out and was appropriately enrolled in the Municipal Aggregation program in which Dynegy was selected as the supplier. Her Utility also mailed her a confirmation of this enrollment, which was another opportunity to opt out of the program.
Since Ms. ******** failed to opt out of the Municipal Aggregation program, the billing was correct and a refund is not warranted.
Ms. ******** has since called Dynegy and a drop transaction was processed to return her service back to the Utility.
