On Saturday, October 1, 2022, my car broke down in ******, **. We called Edd's Towing to tow our car to ************ on Main St ******. Tow truck came and the driver did the paper work and hooked up our car. When we arrived to the garage there was no car, my husband called Edd's Towing. The owner, *****, told my husband that Drivers Edge owed them a ton a money and they were keeping our car. We are not associated with Drivers Edge in any way and all we owe Edd's Towing is for towing our car. We are independent individuals who's car broke down and we called both companies independently to provide a service. We offered to pay our tow in cc or cash and ***** stated he did not want to deal with it untill Monday as their office was now closed!!!!Business response

We were able to resolve this hopefully and delivered the complainants vehicle to another reputable mechanic first thing Monday morning. We realize this is an inconvenience and an unconventional method of collecting money due. We are sorry that you had such a bad experience with towing of your vehicle.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: The owner of Edd's Towing is not taking responsibility for for keeping our car illegally over the weekend causing us much stress, anger and worry. Instead he shifts the blame to an "unreputable" garage. He was keeping our car because said garage owed them money which had nothing to do with us. He chose to put us in the middle of his squabble and then he also expected us to pay the full amount for his illegal towing/holding of our car.

I apologize that you are not satisfied with the service you received. Upon discussing this matter with your husband on Monday, and delivering the car to the auto repair shop, we agreed to only charge you half of the cost of the tow. Your husband expressed his satisfaction in resolving this issue and we were able to resolve the issue in an agreeable manner. Sorry again for any inconvenience or worry this caused you.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:There was nothing satisfactory about this ordeal. You've yet to openly admit and apologize that this fiasco was of you're doing. In your 1st response you shifted the blame on the garage and vaguely mentioned the issue was about money owed. What you did, was take our car to your property without our permission or knowledge to try and use as leverage on a debt you allege the garage owes you. You still presented a full bill excluding the mileage to your property and you were expecting us to pay that! The discount you are referring to, happened only because my husband mentioned our anger and outrage. Your Dispatcher had the 1st chance to tell us you were not doing business with DE and refuse our business or tell us to tow it to another location. Your Tow Driver had a 2nd chance to give us that info. When my husband called you that evening, this fiasco could have been resolved immediately, but your refused. The so called agreeable solution was that our car would no longer in your possession
