I hired YATES ELECTRICAL SERVICES in May 2024 to run electrical from my home in ********* ***** to two shops with 100 feet of my home. YATES ELECTRICAL - TYLAR YATES was hired to do the $6,000+ project. Approximately a month after work completed and he was paid in full, I was looking for my dog who gets under the house from time to time. As I got down on my knees, I saw an absolute mess of exposed wiring coming from the ground that never had conduit coming out of the ground. As I looked at this, I could not believe the horrible workmanship and conduit just left on top of the ground in hopes that I would never look under the house.From the house to the new buildings, he was supposed to dig a trench 3 feet to bury the conduit. He stated 3 feet. Looking further, he didnt even go to safety depth.I sent him a text with a picture of the mess never buried under my house and exposed wires coming out of the ground. In the text, I made comment along with pictures. He took a few minutes to respond as he knew he had been exposed. He said my dogs must have dug it up.He showed up about an hour later with a little bag in hand as if he was going to fix a job that took 5 days to complete and pretended to be ignorant of the quality he sold me without my looking under the house or checking the trench depths and conduit that was never put in those trenches for safety. The bud and proposal stated piped in speaking of conduit between buildings. I asked him to run light weight security camera wire from my main shop through the conduit. He put it in the dirt without conduit.Another complaint was filed here with the BBB in September 2023 claiming bad workmanship and not standing behind his warranty.my job was done so poorly that the three general contractors I advised with their electricians laughed at this guys workmanship.I would not want him on my property to even attempt repair due to the corners he cut.HE WILL PLAY THE VICTIM-BEWARE.Customer response

****** I am very sorry your home is not the way you would like it. We really strive and bend backwards for our clients and at any cost make him/her happy.
Please know his:
- ********** and communication wire (internet) were for sure classified as direct burial. I have receipts if needed and is printed on the side of each cable.
- Before we close any job and collect the final payment the homeowner walks through the job to make sure they like every little detail. You gave us the final check with a smile and a hand shake right after we looked at the completed job.------I went to ******************** after being completely threatened. I tried to go there just to make sure a dog wasn't hurt or had chewed through the wire. He was screaming just like you see on the text thread very shortly after I arrived. As he Screams the 'he will have pay back and have my license'.
------I get in my truck and leave. I called 911 and filed a police report as I was threatened and ran off his property.
------This is the kind of man he is choosing to be. I even had a text on how we could fix the mess up while being threatened.
------Lets be clear. The only thing I am aware of the was wrong is the exposed wire that needs to be re buried and probably encased in concrete so it can not pop out of the ground again! To which is what I proposed in the email I sent to him 3 or 4 days after filing the police report. ($500 fix at most)

I have consulted with a general contractor who has brought in an independent master plumber to write a report for my attorney. My attorney has been away on vacation for a month. My attorney ********************* is working with filing a formal criminal complaint THEFT OF SERVICE. This has been determined by independent contractors that he intenionally misrepresented and committed fraud. I will post the official filing once it has been accepted and TYLAR YATES has been served by constable. I don't believe the BBB has the ability to follow up on our next move to protect what the conman is and what he has done. I may move slow but eventually it will get there for justice.

In consequence of work done by Tylar Yates, I incurred charges for a call to another electricion - Yates originally agreed to pay for this but didn't. I paid for it and now I'm seeking reimbursement.Customer response

Yates electrical installed a home generator for me. Several weeks later I started experiencing random electrical issues. I called a ******** electrician I have used several times who came out and found a loose termination in the generator install and fixed my issue. When i spoke to Yates later they agreed that they were responsible for this charge. Several attempts have been made by that electrician to get his bill paid for without any response from Yates. What I am asking for is simply to take care of this service call charge.Business response

Hi ****************, this is *****. Im glad tou sent this in and I hate when customers have issues but, in this line of work errors do occur. My problem with this is we were not contacted about this issue until it was about payment of a service call. Another concern of mine is that we cant verify any of these claims by you about what was the problem with your system because no pictures were taken. Please provide proof that we were given the chance to come out and uphold our warranty.

I am rejecting this response because: My electrical issue was , to me, random and I did not connect it to the generator install so I called a local electrician that i have used in the past. They were the ones who quickly identified the problem as a loose termination at the transfer switch of the generator. I spoke to ********************** after the fact and he accepted my explanation and his responsibility for the service call. The statement was made by Mr. ********************* at this time, that he would take care of the bill from ***********'s -- he also commented that he knew them to be competent and honest. The problem that Mr. ********************** has now is confusing to say the least.

Bottom line is that we are happy to pay for anything that is out fault. But, we can't and will not do so if you can not prove that this was our fault. Also, I don't not take kindly to customers that have raised their voice and cussed at me on the phone. Which for the record you have done.
You called for a service call from another company and now a long time has gone by and you still don't want to pay them. This is your problem, not mine.

I am rejecting this response because: Tylar Yates agreed, over the phone, that this was his financial responsibility and that he would get with ******************************* to pay it -- they did speak but could not come to an understanding -- I paid ******************************* because they obviously are not part to this dispute and needed to be paid. There is no question in my mind that Yates Electrical owes me the reimbursement -- Tylar Yates originally agreed to this . I'm not sure what his problem is now.
