********** was called out to provide seasonal service to my HVAC system. ******* came out on September 20 to do so. I also had the overflow drip so he said it drain was clogged and he 'blew' out the clog. He finished the inspection and left. (So far, I still have not received a billing for that job) On Friday, October 13, I stepped in a puddle of water at my master bath sink, looked up and the ceiling was dripping water. Didn't know who else to call, so called my homeowner insurance company. Long story shortened, they sent remediation team out to access the damage. They discovered the leak was coming from a/c pipe, I think the overflow pipe that goes to the bathroom sink? I called ********** to see if they could come check their work - was told both managers were out of town. Guess no one else could come look at it - but I called again Monday morning - no response. Called again Monday, and still no response. I have now called another A/C company, who found the problem as being a simple fix / a little human error on the part of G-C's technician. The cost of repairs to be done are under my insurance deductible, which is fine because I didn't want to have to file an insurance claim anyway. But I'm still out probably $1200-$1400 by the time they finish drying out and replacing my ceiling. So thanks, ********** for not even bothering to call me back. I think that's the insult to injury that really has me upset and I will tell everyone I know how I feel about your business. I'm putting $1500 in the 'amount' box because it will not allow me to say 'work in progress'. I don't have a final amount yet. I was hoping I would hear from G-C on Friday and certainly Monday before starting on the repairs.Business response

This was a first time customer, we didnt install the system originally. During seasonal service calls we blow out the drain as a standard procedure. The drain line was probably not glued at some fitting down the line and blew apart. There is no way for us to see this or know that it happened because all drain lines are insulated with a rubber tubing.
We have no record of her calling us when she found the leak. She called us after she had someone fix the sheetrock and ask that we pay her deductible. Out of curtesy and because I was sympathetic to her situation we did not charge her for the service call. IF we had been the original installer that put in this system and we left the piping unglued I would gladly have paid for repairs.
- The improper installation wasnt our fault.
- There is no way ******* would have known the drain had come apart.
- Even if she had called us when she noticed the leak we still wouldnt be responsible for her repairs because of the original improper installation.
This is why we all have to carry insurance.
