. We got him through AAA and it was horrible. He claimed to do upgrades and everything he touched was bad. Paint missing everywhere, texture in wall was terrible. Filled dry wall cracks with caulk instead of drywall tape. I have many pictures and videos. Everything he did needs to be re done. He bought cheap materials sent us a picture of a counter top and brings a cheaper different counter and says its an upgrade. Worst absolutely worst contractor ever. At the end was supposed to show up on a Monday and never showed up the whole week. Until I asked him not to come back. ****** crack head workers in our house and they didnt have a clue what they were doing. Unfortunately I now have attorney fees and a leagal battle with a scam artist ahead but the insurance company and the lawyer hired love the evidence that was documented. The new contractor said there isnt a thing he did that can pass as acceptable.Business response

I strongly disagree with all his bindings stated in his complaint.
i never got an opportunity to do touch up or a punch list on this job.
i upgraded the bathroom cabinets from premade fabricated to a custom made cabinet, adding two drawers.
the Bathroom counter was cultured marble and is now granite with an updated under mounted sink.
bathroom floor was roll lenolium and
I replaced with during rock and ceramic tile.
these upgrades were added at no cost to homeowner!
My time was spent focusing on trying to make *************** happy. I have found that impossible.
we had agreed on a date for completion and punch out on a Saturday and he cancelled.
the bottom line is he wants the money that was paid for these repairs that I was not aloud to complete.

On July 11, ***********************, State Farm, did an estimate on my home of the damages from a water incident. Following the estimate, **** recommended his friend, Darcy Boatman, to do the work for a portion of the damages. **** informed me that I could negotiate with Darcy on the final cost of the repairs. He has only provided an "estimate".Prior to doing the work, Darcy never communicated in writing how much he had planned to charge or the forms of payment and fees that were related to the services he provides.I am filing this complaint because I was charged for things that were not done and for items that Darcy said would be "FREE", which were NOT related to the initial damage that was done. Heres my State Farm claim number for this work was: 43--50Q9-56J Thumper Builders, Darcy Boatman, was informed by me that two primary repairs were needed: 1-Close the 3x4 foot hole in my kitchen ceiling and 2-Add tile around the toilet in my bathroom upstairs. In additional to those two requests, Darcy did a a lot of other work that I'm being charged for afterwards. The kitchen walls were painted (which he said would be free) and he replaced the bathroom floor (with materials he had from another project so he said that would be free, as well). There were also charges on the estimate and included in Darcy's total for carpet that wasn't provided. Ultimately, all of the "free" add-ons became additional charges to the two services that I requested, totally and unagreed upon.... $6,866.77. My first written communication from Darcy was a invoice that solely captured $6,866.77. No services were itemized, just the total.Darcy also texted me several times requesting that I pay the total "IN CASH" or it would be a 3% increase. At the time of payment, he also said the balance was due in 15 days and a 1% service charge would be added each month. If I had known these payment conditions prior to services being provided, I never would have agreed to **** using Darcy as a contractor. Unfortunately, Darcy has continuously refused to provide me an itemized receipt of his provided services. He claims the estimate from State Farm is the itemized "receipt". I believe I am being charged for carpet that was no provided and charged for flooring and painting that was not requested or needed. I also believe the request for a CASH payment is also unreasonable, given that requirement was not communicated before his services were rendered.Im reaching out to the Better Business Bureau, in an attempt to resolve this miscommunication. I provided Darcy a revised itemized invoice that I would be willing to pay in cash and he found it unacceptable. *** had many contractors complete work in my home and he is being extremely unreasonable. Thumper Builders is by far the most unprofessional and unethical contractor Ive ever work with in my 30+ years of homeownership. State Farm received no documentation from Darcy to qualify an a sub-contractor and he is refusing to show an itemized list of the completed work. I am happy to pay for the work that was done (not the carpet, kitchen walls or tile flooring in the bathroom that were supposed to be free). This was the agreement. I'd like to use my credit card, without a 3% additional fee and 1% late fees. I believe I owe Darcy $2,164.15 and not $6,866.77. His requested total is from an "estimate" and not the work that was actually done.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: The response by the Darcy Boatman is absolutely untrue. I have made multiple attempts to pay for the services that were provided. I have simply stated that I did not want to pay for the additional services that were offered for "free": which Darcy said was the "tile in the upstairs bathroom" because it came from another project and the painting of the kitchen. All costs relating to "carpet installation" needs to be removed because there was NO CARPET installed in my house. I made all of those revisions to the bill that Darcy sent me and I was willing to pay that updated invoice that I attached, IN CASH, as he requested but he said my revised offer was "unacceptable".I am obviously not willing to pay 1% additional fee for the additional months that we have not been able to reach an agreement on the cost of this payment, as he has requested. I'm certainly not agreeing to paying any attorney fees.
I've attached my multiple attempts to offer to pay by credit card or cash for the services I believe that I received.
Unfortunately, I do not agree to being charged a 3% fee if I use my credit card, which I was informed of AFTER the services were provided.
To date, I haven't received a list of services that Thumper Builders believes that they provided me. I only received an invoice with a price that I needed to pay in cash. Also, there was no agreement in writing between me and Thumper Builders PRIOR to any services being providing. Therefore, I had no idea a cash payment was expected. I offered to pay multiple times for the work I think Darcy Boatman did. That's all I can do.
Darcy knows that I have made multiple attempts to pay my bill and their response is simply not true.

*******,
The issue is not only for services, but for your deductible as well, the reason we haven't agreed on price is because you refuse to pay your deductible. So at this time we will go to Arbitration, if you agree to payment as indicated in our invoice to include DEDUCTIBLE.
Why is it you think it is acceptable to not pay deductible, that is the issue... If we can go to arbitration that will solve it, or you can pay attorney to resolve this. Under no circumstances will the deductible be waived. As per your policy and as you were told by your adjuster, and agent.

I am rejecting this response because: I don't agree with their response. I agree that there is a need to pay my deductible of $4,309.00 but it does not HAVE to be paid to Darcy Boatman. In most cases, I traditionally pay my deductible directly to State Farm and I can pay the remaining balance of my deductible to State Farm directly of $2,144.85, after I pay Darcy the $2,164.15 for the requested services that were provided. This is not a problem, at all. I happy to pay both Darcy and State Farm the total of my deductible. Given their response, there is no need for arbitration, because I am willing to pay my deductible.Regards,

I am willing to accept payment along with the deductible, State Farm will not accept the deductible, we have already tried to explain this to you ********************. If you have paid more than one deductible, then you have had more than one claim. State Farm deducts the deductible from our Insurance proceeds, therefore you are required to pay that amount directly to us as General Contractor. State Farm has already clarified, verified an explained this numerous times. Please, notice the amount of your deducible is $4,309.00, and payment for work is $2,145. So, unless we receive the $4,309.00 plus the $2,145.00 the Bill is unpaid and we will have to go to arbitration. Thank You! ****** Boatman
