First & foremost she stuck an Iron directly onto my wedding dress and melted holes into it. I'm less than a month away from my wedding. My mom had saved up for years to buy this dress for me and now we are struggling to find someone we can trust to fix whats been done. We are also having to try to find more appliques to cover the damage she's done and since they are a coustom dress & color, theres no guarantee the company who created it still have any of the appliques left. I'm completely heartbroken and dont know what to do.******* has been a nightmare to work with, after the first appointment things just never really got done. There was always an excuse as to why there was no real progress even though she had promised durring each appointment that it would be ready by the next. Heres a rough outline of what was expected after the 1st appointment (Jan 12)+ take in both sides of the bodice (3 inch total)+ fix back pannel + move misplaced applique + fix edges of both pannels + hem + bustle + press top layers so they lay right (Expected total $795-1045 payed 1/2 of lowest est. upfront $395.5)2nd Appointment Feb 5 - only one side of the bodice was taken in.(Excuse- eye infection)+ decided to take thick layer out of skirt - placed pins for hem 3rd appointment Feb 24 - thick layer was removed when we got there.- still, only one side done (Excuse- tired, in process of moving buildings)- re-pin hem 4th appointment March 17 - back of pannel was fixed - still only one side done (Excuse- moved buildings & covid)- discussed placement of applique - re-pined hem - set bustle points 5th appointment March 25 (was promised it would be complete) - applique was set - top layers were pinned - finaly, both sides were taken in when we got there - watched her iron press the dress... - re-bustle This is when I noticed melted holes ******** left so ******* could work "fix" it & finish alterations)Came back to find more holes on back of the dress We noticed 8 holes by thenBusiness response

I have already refunded the amount that you paid in the initial deposit, which also includes money for work that was done to your gown and have the tracking number to prove that it was delivered to the address you provided.
With your wedding being so far out, I made customers who were getting married sooner a priority when life events caused me to get delayed. I try really hard to not ever have to reschedule a client and only do so in extreme circumstances (Covid/Flu/death in the family). During my moving process I was shut down for a week due to waiting on inspections to come through. I was literally at a standstill until the city completed their inspections and wish that it had been in my control, but it was not. When it came to finally being able to open, I was trying my hardest to get caught up after being shut down for a week. Out of the 10 brides during that time, you were the only one to complain My reasons for running behind were factual and showed you the photos of my eye infection that literally caused me to not be able to see out of one eye. I'm a one person shop and did not feel ok with working on your gown with only one eye. I have no one else to pass the work load off to and for that I apologized and will say it again. I am sorry for the delays, but the things that happened were literally out of my control. I never dreamed having lash extensions would make my eye swell up, drain, and crust over.
When you were leaving here on the day you took your dress home, I told you to not worry about the remaining balance when you asked how much you owed, as I felt bad for all the delays. You hugged me and thanked me before you left.
I pray your wedding went well and that you're living a happy new life as a wife.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.She did provide a refund. However, I will say she knew that I lived in ******* & that it was EXTREMELY out of my way to come in when no progress had been made. I would've preferred to have been rescheduled. Also, if she did not have time to work on my dress properly, I would've rather been told upfront so that I could find another alterationist. Lastley, you do not put an iron directly onto delicate fabrics without something between them to protect it from direct heat. She tried to lie about doing so, but I physically watched her do it & she admitted it to the lady I bought the dress from. Her mistake has cost us unessesary time & money to fix.
Regards,
