Ma'am if you are going to leave a review it is helpful to leave an honest one. Normally I would not waste time justifying such outlandish complaints, however I was advised to do so by the Better Business Bureau.
We are not and never were affiliated with Mr. ****** Electric. Your source of information is incorrect. We are known for customer ********************** and professionalism that far exceeds what most companies offer and have never abused or threatened anyone to obtain business. We have hundreds of senior citizens in our customer data base and have never had a customer express anything but gratitude for the services and education we provide.
You asked us to put together an estimate and report for your insurance company so that you could obtain funds to pay for the damage on your electrical system. We showed up for free to your home. We spent almost two hours with you listening to how bad your living conditions were when you had no air conditioning and about all the other issues you were having. You had already contacted your insurance. We did a free diagnostic for you to assess the damage and come up with a plan for repair. We took photos and video evidence. You were educated on how the whole process works and you were told that we would do all of this work for you for free on a contingency that if our estimate was approved that we would be the contractor that does the work.
You were given this paperwork and told that if the estimate was not approved there would be no charge. You were also told that if the estimate was approved and paid for by your insurance and you did not use our services that we would alert your insurance company and that there would be a charge for each hour spent on your report. This is our policy because we have unfortunately had a few customers use our estimates to get large amounts of money from insurance and then use cheaper contractors or don't get the work done at all so they can pocket money. This is insurance fraud and we are very honest and up front about this before we build your report. It is also listed on every estimate we send to every customer.
You sent our estimate to your insurance company. If there were false statements in this report, why would you still send it to your adjuster to use it to get money? Also, the fact that your home was "unlivable" would not be necessary information in getting your claim approved. Therefore, it would not make sense for a technician to add it into the report. Also, we know that the adjusters contact our customers and we would not make up a false statement to give an impression that things are worse than they are that a customer would have to verify. We don't need to be dishonest nor would we be even if it did help with a claim.
Your adjuster contacted us. We never reached out to your insurance. He informed us that he had approved our estimate and ours alone. He did not even mention that he had any other estimates from you. He went on to thank us for the detail and effort put into our report. So I am not sure why you thought we contacted them "without your permission". The first time we reached back out to them was to inform them that you chose to get the money and use a cheaper contractor, which you told us.
We sent you a bill for 5 hours which is the time we spent on your claim. Per your contract. We alerted your insurance company to the situation per your contract. We also told you to just be honest with your insurance adjuster and to send them the estimate from the contractor you chose so he could adjust the claim and remove us from it. We stated in the email we sent you that we would drop the bill down by at least 50 percent if your adjuster confirmed that you were honest. You followed that email up with this embellished and false review. We made several attempts to contact you to see if there was anything we didn't understand or if there was some confusion.
Many people hear about our success with helping people and not having to charge them up front and we have been able to help countless customers by getting surge and lightning damage covered by their insurance due to our years of experience working with insurance companies. It is our goal to provide this service on a contingency that we get the work if approved to help those in need. Unfortunately some people try to take advantage of this service and do and say dishonest things. There are also some who don't fully understand or pay attention to what is said, what is in the paperwork, or how the process works which is why we made several attempts to contact you before reaching this conclusion. If you would like to discuss this situation and the bill and you have been honest with your insurance company we would be happy to discuss a bill reduction as promised.
