They are a total scam. My bill was over 1200 dollars for one month of service I the winter. They tried to tell me I didn't call to change my rate. They charged me almost triple for electricity. Not until I cancelled their service did they drop my rate. Do not use this company. They have committed fraud. They will be allowed to continue. They cheat people in the worst way. I was completely taken advantage of and lied to repeatedly. There should be more protection against them and other companies who will do anything to make a dollar off of a service you have to have in order to survive. Completely unethical.

Hello My name is Elena Just want to warn others about this Company to be Aware Please never sign up with them I am originally from Eastern Europe Not really familiar with Energy suppliers Me and my husband lived in HI where price is high for electricity Moved to PA in 2019 I went to Walmart and NRG representative convinced me to sign up for a 3 months trial to lower the bill I signed for 3 months only and after NRG sent an agreementto call and cancel or stay with them When I got home I told my husband and he said to call and cancel as soon as possible So I called and canceled with one of the representatives over the phone I was given the cancelation number Which I saved for a while and also was watching the bills which did not reflect any charges from them After a while my husband changed to the paperless billing and did not tell me that the bill went up like double Instead of 80-100$ we were paying 200$ and more for like 4 years They were scaming us for thousands of dollars and we are always struggling with bills This year 2023 They increased double on top of our bill and our bill went higher then 300$ We did contact our supplier and they told my husband that it's the 200$ charge from the 3rd party He did call and cancelled right away but I needed some explanation What happened with my cancelation? and why did they use my name to charge us for years without our permission? The manager called me back, stating that they do have a note that I called and decided to keep the service(totally a lie) and they have a recording I insisted to listen to it Otherwise I will contact my attorney to sue them Since I never changed my phone number or got any paperwork to sign to keep the service Opposite I canceled it They did not have a call recording either My email adress was entered wrong so I was never contacted in 4 years I was reinversed 499$ in a check for only 2 months of this year I am so upset that we were robbed for years They took advantage of me Be AWARE

I think this company is a complete rip off. I called to talk about setting up payment arrangements and was told they don't have them. As I was talking to the representative, he asks "how many times have you called to reconfirm my contract?" I answered "never because I didn't know that needed to be done." The rep stated that you are supposed to call every 3 months to reconfirn your contact, otherwise you're not getting the best rate you should be. If you don't call every 3 months, it seems they give you the highest rate possible. So for the last 5 years of having them as my supplier, I never onced called to reconfirm my contract and being I hadn't I was paying .28 cents more than what I should have been. I asked them if there was some kind of compensation for paying their higher rate for almost 5 years now. I was told, (after being on hold for 15 minutes) they would give me some compensation and the representative said $29.50 is what they "could" do for compensation. I figured out the difference and at the cheaper rate for the past 5 years would be about $2,800 and at the rate I am at now would be $4,233. So almost a $1,400 difference and they only were willing to compensate $29.50. Writing ⁷this up to give my opinion about this business. Do Not use this company. No where in their "contract" does it state you need to call every 3 months to get the best rate they offer. Please save yourself the time and frustration and DON'T use this company. Unless you want to pay more like I did, because of that stipulation of calling every 3 months to get the best rate. To me this company is a "scammer." Again this is my own opinion.
