On April 6, 2024 I went to The Good Feet Store seeking relief for my planters fasciitis. I was implied that I had to purchase a package of what was first over $2,000 which was no way I could afford this. So the salesman took away the 4th insert saying its now $1500 which was still way out of my range and some how actually wound up being $1725.55. So, then he went on to give the CareCredit speech which I would not qualify for bc Im on SSI for many medical issues and blindness. So my partner applied and was accepted but of course I will be making the $170 payment from my $842/month SSI for the next YEAR. I didnt want the shoes and even said so and as they were still on my feet his reply was how those were the only ones they had available at the time. Then theres the socks that I will never be able to wear bc I cant stand my feet constricted and the type of socks sold to me burn my feet and are the exact socks I never buy. I told him I dont like these kind of socks and he said I get one more pair with my package. So there I was. I wore the shoes with the inserts home and within that 15 minutes my feet were hurting so bad I havent put them back on. And the shoes and inserts are a size too big. I told him the shoes kept sliding on my heel abd he just sai it was bc I hsd them loosely tied. I told him thats bc I cant stand anything tight on my feet. Never offered any resolution to my complaints. How is it possible that Im stuck with a product unused, with no damages, still in packaging and cant return it within 3 days of purchase?! This place took such advantage of a disabled, blind person only seeking help for pain. And that too. Never ever said in any way that none of this was not returnable and no refunds. Not to mention, how was I supposed to read at the bottom of a receipt when Im BLIND and he knew it. I only saw it when I got home and took a picture w my iPad and could zoom it out big enough for me to see it. Not to mention its on a receipt AFTER its bought. Im very sad and dissatisfied. I was totally taken advantage of with my disability and was lied to through omission of the all sales final no refunds policy. Not to mention the fact that I was not told I did not have to buy a package with all these items I dont need and wont use. Its just not right and they dont care. Like its my fault I didnt know?? And didnt ask?? Who does this with the knowledge of my blindness, my finances of $842/month, and aware I didnt like the shoes or socks and knows most of the items sold to me were not necessary. Im stuck with shoes, inserts, socks that dont fit, and wont fit in my other shoes, not to mention the added pain up my legs to my knees they have added to my already debilitating pain after wearing for less than 30 minutes. They are not out their product, no damage so why cant I return there items to get my money back? I dont understand. I just wanted help.Business response

I was advised by my physical therapist to try the shoes at The Good Feet Store. On 8/5/23 I walked into the store in ******, *****. The salesmen were busy assisting other customers. I could overhear their sales pitch and claims that the orthotic inserts could cure almost all foot and back ailments. Curious I tried a pair on and advised them that I had surgery on both feet. They claimed they would cure any and all issues with my feet if I followed their system and strict schedule of changing out inserts. After spending $2002.67 I went home with everything I needed and then some. The next day the inserts were very uncomfortable and I began having pain in my feet. Day 2 I called and they advised me that this was completely normal and to trust the process. By day 3 my feet hurt so bad I didn't even want to put shoes on and couldn't walk. I made a doctors appointment and was advised to discontinue using the inserts. They were too hard and hit metal plates that were placed in my feet. I was advised by the salesman that I needed a doctors note for a refund. My refund amount was $1379.12. I kept the tennis shoes $129, a pair of socks $16, and insole $30. This still leaves approximately $425 unaccounted for. I was informed that it was a restocking fee. There are 2 miscellaneous charges on my refund. One for $360 and the other $298. I feel like a reasonable restocking fee would be no more than the hourly wage of their salesmen. It should not have cost me $425 just to walk into to their store! The salesmen portrayed that they had a working knowledge of my medical condition but in fact are not doctors but salesmen.Business response

The customer came into our Temple Good Feet Location on 8/5/23 with some foot concerns. Our orthotics are meant to even out your body's weight distribution and therefore create less stress on certain parts of the body. In no way do we say we cure all ailments. The customer agreed to go through our fitting process and we measured her and fit her for our personal fitted orthotics. After trying the orthotics, and walking in them, she decided to purchase our system which includes, 4 sets of orthotics, 3 sets of cushions with toe wedges (arch activator) 3 pairs of socks and a pair of ****** shoes. The system comes with a lifetime warranty on the orthotics against flattening and cracking and when you purchase the system a coupon worth $298 is taken off the purchase. This is why she sees the $298 deduction on her return as she can only get back what she paid for the supports which were originally reduced by $298. All sales are final as they are personal use items however due to the customers surgeries and concerns, we wanted to make sure we accommodated a refund for her however we cannot re sell the product as they are personal use. We have to send the product back to our corporate headquarters. Therefore we charged a 20% service fee which was $360 total and she kept a a pair of shoes, cushion, arch activator and socks which totaled $216. So basically, the customer got back what she paid for the product minus $360 service fee. We pride ourselves on customer service and contact the customer 3 times within the first 30 days to ensure customer's feet are adjusting to the support wear schedule and make free adjustments when needed. In addition, the supports with the lifetime warranty ensures customers never have to pay for them again due to wear and tear. We provide so much comfort to so many customers and we are sorry this did not work out for this customer and that is why the "no refund policy" was waived.

I am rejecting this response because: Your salemen guaranteed that the insoles would fix all of my ailments. They also instructed me to continuing to wear them after complaining of the pain they were causing, stating " this is very common while your feet are adjusting". I am appreciative of the partial refund but feel as if the $360 restocking fee is outrageous. The orthotics were not customized to fit only my feet. I will gladly cover the cost of shipping to send them to your headquarters in **********. I feel like a $300 store credit or refund would be appropriate at the least. I have never returned anything that cost me a paycheck.
Regards,
