This company has reported a collection on my credit report in the amount of $614. I have never heard of them or done any business with them and it is not my debt. I demand this company remove the collection from my credit report

I received an email from Boost Finance on 10.9.24 stating that a $600 loan was severely past due and in collections. I never took out a loan with Boost Finance. I called them and spoke at length with ******. ****** connected me on a 3-way call with the Bank that the loan funds were deposited to. The bank verified that the bank account was not in my name. At that point, ****** told me the account would be turned over to the Fraud Department. She then sent me an Identity Theft Affidavit, which I completed and submitted, and I also filed a Police Report and submitted that to Boost Finance as well. Boost Finance is now telling me they cannot give me any updates on the account unless they are submitted on Police Letterhead. After reading multiple reviews on Boost Finance and how this same thing has happened to many people, that the company does not verify submitted information etc when people apply for loans, allowing identity thieves to take out loans in other people's names, I am extremely concerned that Boost Finance will not do their due diligence to ensure that they classify this as a confirmed fraud case and confirm that I have zero responsibility for this loan. I would like confirmation that this loan was not obtained by me, and that I have zero resposibility for the funds that were deposited into an identity thief's bank account.

I went back and forth with their collections department trying to make payments and was even sent an email offering me to pay a lower payoff amount. However anytime I tried to click on the link to pay I could not get the payment page to work. The website does not allow me to put all of the payment information in and won’t let me hit submit. How can I make a payment if the website will not let me? I have also tried calling them and the call always gets cut off early or just hangs up on me mid call.

I previously had a loan for 300.00 on 3/28/2023 and paid it off on 4/14/2023 for 417.44. I took another loan out for 300.00 on 04/21/2023. For some reason, my loan ballooned to 947.71 as of 5/12. I should only owe $300.00 plus the 90.20. to payoff this loan. This was my understanding from the first time that I borrowed. I do not owe 947.71. I also made a payment online for 93.68 before my due date, on 5/10. They are saying that I am past due on 5/12.

I signed up for a $300 loan with this company. Although I've paid almost $250, the balance ballooned up to over $1,000. I called this company this morning to try and set up a settlement agreement and encountered a very rude and unprofessional employee. When she asked my name, she proceeded to laugh, I am assuming due to the ethnic sounding of my name. I asked her what was funny and she proceeded to be rude. She stated that this account was sold to a law firm and gave their contact information. She refused to provide any other information and was rude and condescending. She even touted that it makes her day to be rude. I am totally flabbergasted by so many things with this company. First the outrageous interest and then the unprofessional and demeaning attitude of their employees. I do not have $1000 to pay this company. I can pay the remaining $100 that I should only owe and that's it. I also want them to stop calling my family members and friends and exposing my debt. That's unethical and against the law.

We started receiving phone calls and text from an unknown company claiming we were behind on a loan we ignored them thinking it was a scam until it showed up on our credit report. My wife called the number after we found that out because it was in her name and was told that a loan for $300.00 in September of 2021 that was in default and was in collections. We found after further investigation it was originally taken out at Boost Financial. Apparently someone had stolen some of my wife's information and used it to get a fraudulent loan. But most of the information was incorrect which any reliable company would have discovered with any due diligence and denied the loan. Boost Financial's shady and inept business practices has negatively affected my credit. We have currently filed a police report and our local police have an ongoing investigation into the situation and are having a hard time getting any cooperation from Boost Financial. I feel Boost Financial at the very least drop the loan cooperate with the police and notify all the credit bureau's of their mistake. I appreciate any thing you can do.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/12/22) */ RE: Case No. XXXXXXXX Dear Sir or Madam, Please consider this our response to the above-referenced complaint. Boost Finance has no desire to participate in any fraudulent activity, as it is typically a costly transaction for us as well as the defrauded consumer. We pride ourselves in taking care of our customers first, and we are careful to take equal care of those who do not wish to be our customer. The account was previously sold to a third-party; however, we have contacted the third-party directly and requested they close the associated account. In addition, we have closed the account in our system. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Sincerely, Boost Finance Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2023/01/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) In regards from Boost Financials response I feel that they did the very minimum to resolve the matter. We are grateful that the harassing calls have ceased but we have no proof that they have really dropped their recovery procedures. I would like something physical stating they have stopped all efforts to take us to court and erase our responsibility for their mistake in issuing this fraudulent loan. Also This incident is still showing up on our credit report and would expect them to notify all credit bureau's and have this mistake removed from our records. I thank you for all your help! Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2023/01/06) */ RE: Case No. XXXXXXXX Dear Sir or Madam, As previously stated, the account was sold to a third-party; however, upon receipt of the initial complaint, we contacted the third-party directly and informed them to cease all collection efforts and close the associated file due to the account being fraudulent. Boost Finance can confirm the account with the third-party was closed in December 2022. In addition, after we received the initial complaint, we notated the account as fraud in our system, waived the outstanding balance, and closed the account. Any inquiries may be removed from a credit report by contacting the reporting agency directly and disputing the inquiry. Once the inquiry has been disputed by the consumer, the reporting agency will contact us directly to investigate the dispute. At that time, we will not contest removal of any inquiries or accounts. Thank you, Boost Finance Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2023/01/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) According to Boost Financial they dropped their collection process and notified all third party collection agency to stop the collection on this fraudulent loan they made. As I expected their word is about as good as their business practices because today I received a collection notice from another collection company named National Credit adjusters who bought the loan from the third party collection agency Cash Central who was the company that turned it into the credit agency's that lowered my credit score. This latest collection bunch has hit my score again. I asked in my original complaint and in my response to their response I wanted some hard copy proof that this fraudulent matter had been taken care of. I was also told by Boost that I would have to notify the credit agency's and when they checked with Boost they would tell them it was resolved. I have contacted the credit agency's and they are investigating the matter but it could take possibly 30 days to resolve. Meanwhile their shady and unethical business practices are causing me undo financial and emotional stress. I know the BBB doesn't get involved in legal action but I feel that that might be my only recourse for satisfaction. I would appreciate you notifying them that pending legal action might be implemented if they don't clean up their mess. Thank you very much,

I took out a loan and fell ill. I called to see if there was anything they could do. They asked for medical records for proof of being out of work. I don't feel as sick as I am I need to pay extra to get them these documents. Also, they do not even show the current balance including fees on the portal. I always was surprised when I thought my payoff would be 130ish and it was 170ish. Per WI law the schedule and payments must be made clear. I have gave them plenty of interest and would like to repay $400.00 and have the loan paid in full. I can pay 100 per month. I have already paid $148 of the 500 borrowed.
