We bought a long arm sewing machine from Wimmers. The first 6 months we had with the long arm, it's spend nearly 4 months in for repairs. In the last year, we have tried to return the machine for issues with operability. Wimmers consistently tells us it is user error (they settled a credit card dispute stating they offered us "user training" in lieu of replacing or accepting a return of a defective piece of equipment. The long arm is current in for its second manufacturers repair in 2 years. Within the last two years, it has been out of service for more than six months. The long arm is not heavily used, yet cost us $25,000. When we asked to return the long arm, Don, one of the employee's refused the return on the grounds that "it is a machine, machines break. one of his fellow employee's was trying to get there car fixed because machines break". This is a weak argument that does nothing to explain the poor quality and craftsmanship of this long arm. My wife refuses to use the machine out of fear it will break. On the occasions Wimmers has taken the machine back to send out for repair, they have refused to answer her calls asking for status updates. They have made it clear they know the machine is a lemon and will not work with us to resolve the issue. W e are paying for a machine that is defective.
