5/30 - Gave 30 day notice of membership cancellation. Got signed document from Kim (the owner) stating that my membership officially ends 6/30. There should be no further charges after that. 7/5 - My bank account got charged $77. I called and spoke to Jody. She said several other people were charged in error as well. She said she would have Kim call me. No call 7/6 or 7/7 - No refund. Called and spoke to Jody again. She said she would have Kim call me. No call 7/12 - No refund. Called and talked to Kim’s husband. He said she should be there shortly and he would have Kim call me. No call 7/28 - Still no refund. Called and talked to Kim. She said refund had been processed so should see it by Friday at the latest and to call if not 7/26 - No refund. Called and Kim told me refund should have been processed. Said payment co was closed for the night but would call them in the morning 8/2 - No refund and got charged $77 AGAIN. Called and talked to Kim’s husband. Told him was 6th or 7th call, have never had anyone ever return a call, still no refund, charged again. Told him want both charges refunded immediately, my bank account info removed from their system and a call back letting me know it had been done. No call 8/3 - Still no refund. Called again during business hours and no one answered so obviously, screening my call. Left a message recapping everything, stated I want proof of a refund, the money back in my account by tomorrow and a call back today, and my bank account info removed from their system. No call 8/3 - Called bank to discuss options. They have started the process of disputing the charges but that will take quite some time. They only way to prevent Secret Beach from continuing to charge me since it’s via my debit card is for me to go get a new one. I posted a negative review on yelp with all of this info and saw several people who are having the same issue. They are continuing to charge people after memberships are cancelled and refusing to refund them.
