I attempted to call and cancel my membership several months ago, like June 2022. They wouldn’t let me do it over the phone and told me I had to go in and cancel. I forgot about it, and let the account go on for a few more months. Wasn’t aware of the annual fee coming up, nor was I notified that it would be coming out soon so I wasn’t prepared for an extra $40 to come out, and they charged me and put me in my overdraft. I went in immediately talked to them and cancelled the subscription. They would not issue me a refund though and said I had to go back the next day to speak with the manager. I couldn’t cuz I work the same hours as him so I called the next day. He wouldn’t refund my money saying it would have declined if there weren’t funds. I told him the charge when through and my bank charged me an overdraft fee because of them. He still wouldn’t even do a partial refund to cover the overdraft fee. I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to. He gave me a customer service number to call. As soon as I called, it said they were closed as of 4pm EST, which is 2pm my local time which means I’m working and cannot call during those business hours. They advertise 24 hours everywhere but they can’t have their customer service open later for their west coast clients?? These business practices are unethical and I should have been alerted before that payment was processed. Now I’m scrambling trying to figure out how I can make it to next pay day in 2 weeks because of a charge that I wasn’t prepared for.
