On 7/19/21 I had a physical exam with Dr. H***************** that included a blood test, which I paid for in full. Some test results were abnormal, with elevated "hepatic enzyme" levels being a particular concern. Dr. H************* would not communicate with me about my test results, except through a **** video the following week. While waiting for that call I resolved the "hepatic enzyme" issue, using a web search. I found that levels similar to mine were temporary and harmless, caused by weight lifting before the blood test, and not by liver malfunction. I sent that information to Dr. H*************** through the online portal 4 DAYS PRIOR TO SCHEDULED CALL, but she would not reply. Instead, she waited for the call merely to tell me, "You may be right", and to schedule the obvious follow-up blood test (which showed normal hepatic enzyme levels, as expected). She later billed the 7/26/21 **** call (acct. #**********) as an "office visit", in the amount of $188.I maintain the 7/26/21 "office visit" charge is fraudulent, and I have declined to pay for it. In substance, the Zoom call -- the subject of which is recorded as "Elevated Hepatic Enzymes" -- was nothing more than a routine follow-up call. Dr. H***************** merely agreed with the information I had sent her the previous week and scheduled another blood test for me. THAT WAS THE ENTIRE SUBSTANCE OF THE MATTER. The video aspect of the call had no legitimate purpose, as NO EXAMINATION took place. Moreover, there was NO CONSULTATION on the matter, as Dr. H************* neither sought nor obtained any information about it that she did not already have. In retrospect, she appears to have ignored my web portal communications, avoided making a results call by phone (needlessly choosing the more cumbersome means of a computer), insisted on live video (even though it lacked any purpose), and delayed the call in order to record it as a scheduled "appointment", all to dress up a routine results call as a billable "office visit".Business response
