Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:

The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On March 12, 2024 the Board for Contractors issued a Consent Order regarding Bug's Mobile Home Movers for the following violations. 1.  Failure of those engaged in residential contracting to comply with the terms of a written contract that contains the following minimum requirements. a. When work is to begin and estimated completion. b. A statement of the total cost of the contract and the amounts and schedule for progress payments.  c. A listing of specific materials and work to be performed. d.  A plaint language clause concerning events beyond the control of the contractor and a statement that delays do not constitute abandonment and not included in the calculating timeframes.  e. A statement of assurance that the contractor will comply with all local requirements for building permits, inspections and zoning. f.  Disclosure of the cancellation rights of the parties. h.  Contractor's name, address, license number, class of license and classifications or specialty services.  i. Statement that any modifications to the contract must be in writing and signed by all parties. j.  Effective July 1, 2015 a statement notifying consumers of the Transaction Recovery Fund and how to contact the board for claim information.

2.  Prior to commencement of work or acceptance of payments the contract shall be signed by both the consumer and licensee or his agent.

3. Failure to inform the board in writing, within 30 days, that the firm, a member of the responsible management or qualified individual has pleaded guilty or was convicted or found guilty of any felony or misdemeanor.
