Contracted to sell contents of apartment in preparation for my move to **. Property loaded into trucks to store in Radford until sale details completed. Sale took place 11/19/22 at **** ******** ** ******** ** ****** I was told by owner no inventory was kept, unable to tell me what was sold or what was donated to ********* Gave me sell amt. $4026 with reimbursement of $2415.60 to me. I did keep an inventory which contains over 26 pieces of solid wood furniture, Lenox crystal, signed art and collectibles, plus 10 lamps, small appliances, luggage, dishes, rugs, handmade quilts, computer & printer, shredder, phones, 2 tv's, room size rug, folding stepstool, vacuum, misc hand tools, boxes of Christmas and holiday decorations, books, dishes with cooking utensils and many more misc. household items. My question: how was the total for my sell determined with accounting of donation items or amt. for tax purposes

We sat down did a contract and fulfilled our agreement. We packed the items stored them at no charge. The items went through 2 day sale.  We were told her family would be present at the sale they never shown up. The furniture had a few big pieces and the rest was foot stools and small tables.  We spoke on the phone with her and there was no indication of dissatisfaction. We stayed in contact with her through email and phone.  She should have communicated to us she was dissatisfied. Most of the stuff  was marginal household items. Following the sale the unsold items were donated to goodwill. Items not excepted by ******** were disposed of.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Business did pick up, store, and hold a sale for my items. Business did not keep an inventory about what was sold, what was donated, and what was thrown away. How did the business determine how much money to give me if there was no transcript? I need the transcript of what was sold, donated, and thrown away for my taxes.  Regards, ***** *********

The customer was told exactly how the sale would operate. We worked with another client to be able to add her stuff into there property. She did not have enough for sale of her own items. Or a property to sell them. As we told her we sold her items on the first floor with a separate register.  We sold the homeowners items in the basement with a separate register.  Our sales get very busy. This sale there was over 80 people waiting to come in. We told her that things move to fast to record each item.  She knew that before she signed the contract.  We want to make every customer experience a great one.  But in this case there was nothing we could have done to make her happy.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My purpose in filing with BBB was to get specific monetary info.; how $ amt. I was sent was calculated and what was $ amount was attributed to the ******** donation.I do not want to participate in a " he said, she said" dialogue with the business which is an avoidance of the issue.I appreciate BBB efforts to assist the consumer, Regards, ***** *********
