My car was illegally towed on dec 12. ***************************************************************. They said for street cleaning but there was no sign to state as such. Street cleaning was supposed to be on Thurs.Business response

Seibert's Towing tows vehicles for street cleaning only at the direction of law enforcement. Each vehicle that is towed must have written authorization from the ******** ***************** or their representatives. We are contractually obligated to tow these vehicles. Signs for street cleaning are not posted by our company. They are posted by the ********** of ****** Works for the ****************.
If the complaintant believes that they were towed in error, the proper venue for their complaint is with the Richmond Traffic Court. As stated above, Seiberts Towing does not make decisions on which vehicles to tow, and the dispute regarding the tow is with the City and not our company. The General District ****** **************** can be reached at ************. The fine paid at Seiberts Towing for this vehicle is the payment of the citation issued by the police department. I suggest the complainant contact them for further action.

Seibert's Towing only conducts street cleaning under the direction of authorized representatives from the **************** and the ******** *****************. Seibert's Towing does not tow vehicles unless we are given written authorization from the ******** ***************** or their representatives for each specific vehicle. The signs posted for street cleaning are posted by the ****************, not Seibert's Towing. The schedules for street cleaning are also set by personnel from the City of ********* ********** of ****** Works. The complaint submitted by ****************** should be directed to the **************** for further action. If she believes her vehicle was towed in error, Seibert's Towing does not have the authority to cancel the citation on her vehicle. The proper recourse to request a dismissal of a traffic citation is through ********'s General District ****** **************** which can be reached at ************.Customer response

My vehicle was towed yesterday from Main street, it was my mistake, my vehicle was parked in an area that has restrictions. I called Seibert's towing twice they could not locate my vehicle, so they provided the non-emergency number. I called Richmond dispatch, they could not locate the vehicle on the towed sheet, it was not reported as towed. Richmond dispatch reported my vehicle stolen and I received a case number- *************. My husband called Seibert's too, same answer they didn't have the vehicle, and the manager of my apartment complex called too, same answer my vehicle was not in their possession. After waiting all day for information on my vehicle, I called the Richmond dispatch again, around 5PM the vehicle was still not showing as towed, my husband recommended to go to Seibert's and check if the vehicle was there. I agreed thinking there is no way is there, since we called 4 times and the 4 times we were told the vehicle was not there. to my surprise the vehicle was there, they towed my car and would not give me any information.Business response

We have no fundamental disagreement with Ms. *******' complaint. Our phone records show 2 calls from the number listed on the complaint and apparently we could not give her accurate information at the time of her calls. Due to our error, we are refunding half the amount of Ms. *******" initial payment. Our error does not mitigate the fact that Ms. *******' vehicle was parked illegally that morning and towed at the direction of law enforcement. Her payment included funds owed to the municipality for the parking violation. The funds must still be forwarded to the municipality.
Please note that credit card refunds can take up to 14 days to be credited back to her account.
