In September 2021, my grandmother passed away. There has been lots of family issues surrounding that, but at the time, my mom wanted to get a copy of my grandmother's death certificate (that's my mom's mother). We were told to contact the Proce Helton Funeral Home to order one because the person who took over responsibility for making arrangements did not want to be responsible for order our copy of it.On September 14, 2021, I called Price Helton and explained that I wanted to order a copy of the death certificate. The woman took my debit card information and said that if it wasn't in by the funeral date, it would be mailed to me (and she took MY address and specifically told me that she would mail it to the address I gave her) and charged my card $25 for the copy.In December, I still had not recieved the copy, so I called them back. I spoke to the same woman who apologized profusely for the error and told me that she had mailed it to the woman who made the arrangements by mistake. She told me that she would get with her boss to see how to fix the error, they would contact the other person and see if they could get it back from her and if not, they would have to order a new one. She asked me to give her some time and she would make it right for us.Come March, I hadn't recieved anything nor heard from them. I called back. It was not the same woman, but a man who looked into the issue for me and told me that "They only send death certificates to next of kin" and that I had to contact that person to get the copy that I ordered with my debit card under the premise that it would be mailed directly to me from her. I told him it was my debut card and what I was told before. He told me he would call back. I had to call again a month later. Same story, I have to get it from that person.At this point, it's a public record that I can order from vital records. I want my money back for the document I never recieved that was mistakenly mailed elsewhere.Business response

Please contact our office at ************ so that we can arrange for a refund of $25.00 to you. Our notes from the file indicate that had already taken place. Our sincerest apologies that it had not.
