At the end of May 2023 the owner, **** **********************, came to my house to to diagnose a stove hood problem and to take my order for a generator. Mr ********************** was very helpful and very encouraging. The company got on the hood problem immediately and a new hood arrived at their office in good time. That was five months ago and no installation has been scheduled. As to the generator, I could get no information from Friday Harbor Electric, not even an estimate on cost. There are to be planned power outages the end of this month, September, three nights in a row. Im eighty-seven years old and cell phones do not work reliably where I live. If I have an emergency during those outages, I have no way to get help.My complaint is not that it took so long to get work done. One learns to be patient about these things when one lives on an island. My frustration is that I could get no response at all from the company. In September I found out the generator had not yet been ordered, but at 11:15 on 11/2, Friday Harbor Electric called to say theyd deliver the generator in a half hour or 45 minutes. When they hadnt shown up by noon, I called the office but no one answered the phone. At 2 PM I called again to ask if there had been a delay. Mr. ********************** called me around 2:30 to rant at me. He asked if I still wanted him to install the generator. Of course I said yes, that Id been waiting five months for this. He ignored that and said he was going to deliver the generator, I could pay ********************* (approximately $15,000) for it, but he wasnt going to install it. I asked what I was supposed to do with a generator that wasnt installed and that Id better call a lawyer. If he delivered the generator, I expected him to install it. Ive had to change my mind about that: I have been warned that Mr. ********************** could alter the generator so that it would never work correctly. This situation with Friday Harbor Electric has been a shocker, and Mr. **********************s behavior is alarming.

******* called asking for our help with her hood vent and do a load calculation for a generator. **** went out there twice to take measurements and do a load calculation (at no charge). She was not a client of ours and was advised that this process may take longer since we have many contractors, work on other islands, and emergency calls along with our service calls with our existing clients. She was fine with that. We have an extensive phone log as well as numerous emails sent back and forth. We emailed her estimate for the generator on 9/5/23. Her hood vent was already delivered to shop. On 9/6/23 ******* received the estimate and authorized us to order it from a 3rd party vendor. She emailed us back with a lengthy list of questions. We did not immediately order the generator until we could resolve all of her numerous questions. ***** called her on 9/6/23 to explain the process and to answer all her questions. We advised her that the authorized dealer is responsible for ordering, delivery and start up. We also advised her that our tentative completion date of her project would be on or about 10/31/23. We ordered 15 generators for delivery in November. On her delivery date of 11/2/23 the previous client did not complete the preparation tasks which caused us to run late. The electrician did call ******* to let her know about the delay. She was disrespectful and argumentative towards him. He then called the owner, ****, to ask how to proceed with the job.  **** called ******* to explain the delay and we would still have the generator delivered on that day if she chose to. However, **** told her that Friday Harbor Electric was not going to hook it up based on her past behavior with our office staff, our employees and now the owner. **** told her she could have another electrical contractor of her choice to hook up the generator since we were not able to meet her demands. She is correct in the fact I did not answer the phone that day because I did not want to engage in her bullying and harassment. She left a message on the phone saying, "if you're not going to install the generator, don't deliver it. If you deliver it, I expect you to install it." At that point the owner of the generator business did not want to drop off the generator or do business with her. Lastly her behavior was alarming when she called a Sheriff's Deputy to our place of business to advise us that she has blocked the driveway with her car and that she would be contacting a lawyer. The Deputy was required to follow up on her complaint even though it was a civil complaint with no merit as part of his duties. I told him Friday Harbor Electric wants no further contact from her.
