After a brief bout with pneumonia, I moved my father to Hawthorne Court in *********, **. I was given approx 1/2 day to find an assisted living facility as he was going to require more help than the independent apartment I had secured for him at the same facility.I am not filing the complaint disputing charges, I am filing a complaint based on the way they do business.My father moved in on 5/6/24. I had paid $6098 in April, to secure a special rate of $2598 on a one bedroom independent apt along with a whopping $3500 community fee.Of course the rate would increase based on his care, this I knew. However, an ACH withdrawal for $3471.00 was debited from his checking account on 6/6/24 (two days after we relocated to a more suitable facility) and I have yet to receive any itemized statements or paperwork pertaining to his care while at this facility which were requested on 5/17/24 when I attended a family care conference with ***************************, facility director and ***************************, health director.They have been uncooperative to requests by email and I would hope you might be able to help.Business response

The reason I did not get this is you have a different administrator listed. I had this forwarded to me. My name is ************************* am the current administrator for Hawthorne Court. I am not sure when this complaint was written. To my knowledge we have settled everything with this family. As per the last email I had with this woman I had sent her the statement she was requesting and then she said she would get any information regarding her fathers records from the current AL community he was residing at. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

I am rejecting this response because: while they did provide a statement, for their withdrawal of funds, they have yet to follow though with a final invoice/statement. They need to actually function as a legitimate business. I am going to consider the matter closed and resolved if I do not receive anything more from ************** and her team.

I have appreciated having the opportunity to gotten to know ************. It was an honor and privilege to make his acquaintance. I will not be reaching out to ***** for anything moving forward as I feel we have closed all business as this is also her request per her statement. I have attached a copy of the final statement that was mailed out on 6-24-24. It shows prorated days, credits etc. and a zero balance due. If there is anything else that I can or need to provide, please reach out to me as I do pride myself on being fair and just.
