*********** ********* was hired to remove the very old vinyl from our house and replace everything with hardi-plank. What we thought was all supposed to be in one contract turned into 2 more and almost swindled us into the 4 total!THIS GUY IS A CON-ARTIST!He makes you feel comfortable and important claiming that his customers satisfaction is very important to him and that’s what matters most but when you try to point out things that don’t look right. .. - Not preping or sanding old paint -Not taping off all the windows or covering the windows with plastic before using the paint sprayer -Moving large objects close to the house or covering patio furniture before spraying -Refusing to acknowledge or take responsibility of damages done on the property by him, only him, and him alone -Unprofessional in the job he was hired and in customer service Whenever we would bring up an issue or a problem that we saw it would turn into huge ordeal.He would start saying no more freebies?We never asked for any! after 4months of him still not completing the job and numerous eye sores we brought up to his attention and were never addressed we fired him!He was clearly and incorrectly installing the trim around on our roof!Like I said he tried to swindle us with another contract when we realized we’ve had enough.We were never on his case about time or questioned his work.When we notice the paint we realized we needed to go through the house with a comb and brought in a second opinion.The damage was done and we noticed so many more flaws and how he was cutting corners everywhere.After we fired him he started threatening,belittling,and cursed at me and my wife!We try to reason with him but became completely unhinged and unstable we had to file a protection order against before continuing legal action. Come to find out he’s done this before!! Fun fact!He closed his business because of multiple lawsuits and reopened a new business under his fiancé name **** ****** ****** ******* ***.Initial Complaint

Hired CLM from *****'s List to redo my deck and add a wheelchair ramp. This was in Nov 2022. Was told it would take about 3 weeks. I figured because of the December 2022 weather we had that the job would be delayed until nicer weather. It wasn't, *********** (he worked alone) started demo the second week of December and had to work around snow and rain. He only worked a few hours a day, then a few days a week. His hours kept dwindling and after I asked about this he assured me that just because he wasn't at site he was still working for me by researching materials. Other jobs I've hired out obtained all the materials prior to the start of the job. *********** shopped as he went, delaying the job by weeks. Several weeks into the job he approached me saying he drastically under bid the job and needed more money for materials. His original bid was on par with other bids I received for the job. I felt he had me in a corner with the job no where near finished, so I have me more money. Then a couple weeks later he approached me again for more money. 2 months later a city inspector was out to inspect my new HVAC system and noticed the deck/ramp. He immediately posted a stop work order sighting a unsafe and shoddy structure. I also found out a building permit was not obtained, ***** argued with me a permit was not needed. I asked ***** not to come back and now I am left with an unfinished deck/ramp. During these 2 months I felt trapped in my home as I never knew when ***** would be there to work and didn't want to miss him. I had personal things to do and could not. If anyone wants to hire ************'d check him out thoroughly and see if he has a bond/insurance. I found one website staring his insurance ran out prior to my job. I am a single senior citizen on a fixed budget and was taken for quit a large sum of money that I'll never get back and now I'll have to pay out to get the job fixed/completed.. ***** seemed to have an excuse/answer for all my queries.Business response

First off you sent me an email that said you where going a different direction!! Second of all clm construction has been closed down ! Thats why my insurance is gone . Not my fault you dont want to pay extra money for additional work . Once again including the email you sent me that said you where going a different direction! Let me guess that different direction was more expensive Im sureCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because: After the city put a stop work on the project and paying you all but $100.00 of your fee yes I asked you not to come back. Did you not understand this meant you were fired? When you mentioned you would get a friend to try to obtain a permit I knew I made the right decision. A job that should have taken no more than a few weeks was still not finished almost 2 1/2 months later. The comments about your work from the city inspectors and finding you had not obtained a building permit were big factors in this decision. The additional money you mentioned, you don't expect another business to come out and fix/finish the job to work for nothing do you? The bids I received were far less not more than you took me for. As for the dropped insurance it was prior to the start of my project. not after my job and you closing your business. I've read two other complaints made on you and it appears I am not the only one you've done this very same thing. The dates one mentioned I am now wondering if you were working their projects at the same time as mine and that is why you were at my house so very little hours. I can't tell how I feel about being taken like this because I explained how I was fixing my house up in order to maybe sell in the future and wanting to bring my wheelchair bound mother home. Now I can't complete the work I had planned. I am sorry you felt you needed money so badly you felt the need to take it from a senior citizen on a budget. I wish you felt it in your heart to refund at least part of the money you took from me.

Please add the below response from ***** that he emailed directly to me instead of responding thru my BBB complaint. And then add my response. After these have been added (and sent to *****) I plan on closing this complaint as I require nothing from ***** but an apology and would like the public to see my complaint and know who they would be working with should he be hired. I would like to be refunded part of my money but I'm sure there is no way he'll give any up as he has various excuses.
