I contacted Joe Handy company for an estimate to install two bathroom faucets and vanities which required moving the drain connection in the wall to be elevated approximately 9 and moving over a waterline. They never provided any estimate so I asked them how much they would charge for the work. They said, it wont be much, well take care of you. As they were walking away to their truck. They have submitted bids for work before which I declined and informed them that I would like to do business with them but they are too expensive! They showed up and did the job and they dropped an invoice for $3,334.62 !! Of which I paid them $1500.00 cash which was signed for by ******.After the shock of this outrageous invoice I said, you must be kidding! You are telling me that you used $1500.00 of materials to install two faucets move two copper drains and a waterline? I saw what you did and theres not $1500.00 of materials in my wall!*** of Joe Handy said he has the receipts on his desk and he would photograph them and send them to me to verify his claims. The work and this conversation occurred May 13, 2024. They texted me May 21, 2024 inquiring about a payment. I told them Im still awaiting the photos of the materials receipts. ****** said he would email them to me. I said okay and provided him with my email address.May 24, 2024 I received a phone call from *** requesting payment again and I once again stated that I am awaiting the receipts for the materials to verify the $1500.00 .*** said okay and emailed an itemized invoice instead of the photos of the receipts he claimed to have on his desk.I have not received any photos or photocopies of any receipts.I texted the business and once again made the same request today May 29, 2024 and I was told that I being referred to collections and that a lien would be placed upon my property.I am outraged and concerned that this treachery will continue. Please, if possible can you help me?Business response

****** has been managing his bathroom project on his own instead of having a contractor manage the project. This has resulted in the whole bathroom being tiled before the rough construction mechanical was done. The wall should have been cut open and plumbing drains converted to ABS before finishing the bathroom. The walls being already tiled means we couldn't cut them open large enough to do so. We had to use the existing copper drain system, and the only supplier in town sells copper pipe in 20ft sections. the 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 pipe required to do the job costed over 700 just for the pipe. There was also many other copper fittings required to do the job as well as valves, fill hoses, couplings, receivers, p traps, and melamine to cover the holes we had to cut behind the vanities. We even told ****** this before purchasing the second piece of pipe required to finish the job and he understood it was necessary and expensive.
