Rented an excavator at a quoted price and this was charged. When the equipment was picked up another charge was charged to my credit card for over 600 dollars. When I contacted the business it was stated that the equipment was dirty (it was not) and that their associate that had quoted the rental price was wrong. Photos they provided of the equipment being dirty were after it was returned to their shop. There was not any communication or coordination on the equipment pickup, it was picked up days late and the invoice was sent and charged before the equipment was even back at their shop.I was told the delivery fee and breaker equipment rental were part of the original quote and charge only to be told their associate that told me this was mistaken and this was my problem. The business has become non responsive at this point and I have also opened a dispute with my bank.Business response

Rental contract was for 1 day rental which includes 8 hours. Customer put over 12 hours on machine resulting in additional charges. We have been in communication with renter and supplied before and after photos. The terms and conditions spell out the rental process. The equipment required considerable time and effort to clean the mud off. There is nothing more we can do and charges are correct. Thank you for understanding.Customer response

The issue is not with the additional hours charged. The issue is with the cleaning fee as the equipment was clean and made dirty again when they picked it up. The equipment was placed in a position that it would not get dirty loading it and the person who loaded it took it through the mud again. This is not my fault and should not be charged for cleaning. I cleaned the equipment thoroughly.
Also the rental was for one day. Dropped on Friday but was not picked up till Wednesday. During this time after the equipment was cleaned there was heavy rain for several days. The pictures the business provided at my residence are after the employee moved the equipment. This a company that drops off construction equipment at construction sites. I do not see why it costs 138 dollars for them to run a water hose.I would be satisfied with them dropping the cleaning charge but also the quoted price of the equipment was different that what was actually charged.

Hello ******,
I have reviewed the events of this situation, your remarks in this email and discussed this with my mechanic, a 5-year Marine Veteran who served as an aircraft mechanic with a degree in diesel mechanics and 20 years of experience with heavy equipment, aircraft and OTR trucks. While your son is a young mechanic and has shared his input on a possible cause of why the track came off the machine, this is not the ONLY way a track can be thrown. There are a multitude of possible causes, like working conditions, operator experience, and site terrain among other things.
Based on the information provided to me by all parties I have heard from and the knowledge of how I see our machines get serviced on a regular basis, I find this was caused by a combination of site terrain and operator inexperience. From the description I received by my mechanic who went to your site, it is sloped and there was evidence of hard track turns with the machine, which would result in a high probability that dirt and other debris were packed into the track, this coupled with the hard turns on the track would cause the track to throw or "walk" off its rollers. Knowing there was also 4-thousand-pound ecology block being carried to build a wall to level out your yard, this would only exacerbate the potential to throw a track. I understand that these things are frustrating and cause delays, however even the most experienced operators throw a track occasionally. We do our best to make sure these things are avoided but in no way can we make any machine immune to it due to the many experience levels of operators we rent to, conditions operated in and tasks that our machines are rented for, to accomplish.
Myself and the other employees at Ideal Rent-All strive every day to provide the best rental experience possible, working tirelessly to help customers with their jobs, solve dilemmas, overcome machine/job site challenges and celebrate successes as well as teach and educate whenever possible. Unfortunately, sometimes these things take time to get through for many different reasons, be it an internal cause due to vacations, time off, supplier consultation, parts shortages and even labor shortages. The world we all work and live in right now is tough, as I am sure you are well aware. Your patience and understanding would have been appreciated as, if you can recall, we delivered same day of your last-minute call for equipment and did everything we could to help you overcome the challenge of your project even working late into the night to make sure you were accommodated. I challenge you to have any other rental company provide the same level of flexibility without exorbitant up charge expenses.Customer response

Please see screenshot attached. Which shows I did respond on October 12th rejecting Ideal Rentalls response with a very detailed response of my own as to why. Please contact me to explain why this complaint was closed saying I didnt respond?Customer response

They have not been in contact with me, I will be taking them to small claims court
