On January 22, 2023 Dunwell completed the replacement of a French Drain in front of our garage. The last task was hosing off the cement to expose the aggregate. They finished about 9:30pm, the two young guys were the only ones left here. All of the cement they hosed off the aggregate went into the new french drain and into the drain pipes under the garage slab. With the first heavy rains after a hot summer the concrete in the pipes and french drain broke up and got washed further downstream. There is at least $10,000 expense to cut through the cement, dig out and replace the pipes. This work is still under way. ************************** the Owner of Dunwell showed up today and said the deposit in the bottom of the drain was not concrete and it was very old, like from before he did the work. This is not the case as the cement coated the entire length of the French Drain, about 1/4 inch thick.

Hi just saw your email about the complain frm the customer *************************** @ ***********. He called me told me what happened. Told him Ill come by to look at whats his complaining about. So went there looked at it. It doesnt look like any cement concrete that we did. It looks like rocks that drift down to his drainage when it rain hard. It doesnt even look like anything of what the work we did. We made sure that our work is done well. So we dont have this kinda issue.  His demanding me to pay him money. I explain to him nicely. That Im not paying him any money. Because what his complaining about is not frm the work we did. He got mad and started yelling and swearing at me and kick me off his property. That show you that his is guilty at his own fault and hes blaming it on other people for what happened. The job has been done for about 7-8 months now.

That the drain we went to repair has been there for 40yrs. ***** was there. He saw at the work that we did. He knows we did everything right. My boys did all that they suppose to do. Because thats not the only drain repair work we did for customers.

I am rejecting this response because:

In January of 2023 we hired Dunwell Services to repair a French Drain in front of our garage door.  The last step of the project was to hose off the cement "slurry" and expose the aggregate so the new cement would match the rest of the driveway.  The "slurry" was hosed directly into the new french drain.  They did not cover the french drain they just installed, nor the drain pipes that connects to the french drain.  This work was completed by two of the younger workers at 9:00 PM.  Inoke was not on site at that time.

Over the hot summer the cement in the drain dried up and cracked.  When the fall rains came, the water washed these broken pieces down the drain until they created a blockage about 23 feet past the French drain.  We hired another **************** to jackhammer the cement slab and replace the pipes that were clogged by cement.  The bill was more than $10,000.

I asked Inoke to come look at the situation.  He told me that the materiel that we pulled out of the French Drain they installed, and the pipes under the slap floor, was not cement but he could not say what it was.  He said it was very old, suggesting that it was there before they did their work, but the drain they installed had cement in it just like the drain under the floor.  He also said it was ordinary materiel that drained off of our tilted driveway.  This is certainly not the case.  Water, small stones and dirt might be washed into the drain, by design, but not cement.

I have photos and pieces of the concrete to back up this statement.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************
