I was attempting to buy a box of screws that was labeled at 95 cents and another that was marked as $7.59 at ******* ace hardware ***********************************************************. There is a clearance section in their s**** aisle they tried to charge me ***** and would not sale it for the price they had marked it at so I said ok how about this box marked at **** they told me that they would not honor any of the prices they had marked in aisle and they didn't care that if was clearly marked that price .I talked to the manager ************* and she said no way was she going to honor any of the screws that were on clearance saying maybe some one moved them to the wrong spot but I tried to show her that the tag says these specifics screwed and has this price she refused to lookBusiness response

We are aware of the customer complaint and have responded to them.
There were some packages of screws and nails that had been marked down significantly, and had sold out.
They were sold at the discounted price on the red bin tags, some at 95% off.
The bin tags were still up for the items that were sold out, and other items had been placed in those spots, more than likely by customers just setting things down.
The *** on the bin tag, and the *** on the items they were trying to purchase did not match.
We have since gone back into the isle, removed the discontinued items bin tags, and straightened out the area.
Unfortunately the fastener isle does not stay neat, people pick things up, put things down where they do not belong.
Should we monitor this more closely, yes. Did we knowingly try to do something dishonest, no.
We have been in business for 83 years, we always do our best to treat customers right.

Ya saying that it could have been a customer putting it in the wrong spot might be the way that you try to get out of taking any responsablity for the false advertisement in most cases but not this time because the LAble says what the item is and what the price was and now is but I also gave them a chance to give me some other s**** they had marked on the cleanse isle but they refused to I showed them that the screwed said those specific sscrewes but they told me flat out they were not going to honor any of the prices they had marked down for clearance ...I talked to the manager ************* and she was rude she said I not give it to you that price I don't care what it says so eather pay for them or get out then she told one of her employees to not let me out the door and to caout and to call the cops she asked her employee if a torch lighter that I had one me that was clearly old and been used for while she said do we sale those here ? Trying to make it look like I stole sonthing but to her disappointment they didn't sale those there and I thankfully didn't have anything on me that she could have made it to look like I took anything but she tried to do that I belive because she was mad that I told her what she was doing was elligaal false advertisment is against the law so she tryed to get even and for a manager to be so unprofessional and ***** and she got even she may not have got to set me up like she tried to do but she didn't have to sale the s**** at the price they were clearly marked at and she got to show she didn't care one bit and she emberessed me
