I took my dog to the groomer on April 17, 2023 with no pre existing physical issues. 2 days after the groomer on April 19th, my dog would not stop itching and attacking the bottom of his feet. On April 20th, I brought my dog back to the groomer to discuss the issue and see what products they had used. I was instructed to rinse his paws again to ensure all the soap was out. Then make an appointment with a vet. At this time, I purchased a cone to stop him from gaining access to his paws. On May 2nd I was able to finally get an appointment with the vet, they prescribed anti inflammatory medication both topically and internally. After 2 weeks, he continued to get worse and showed no signs of recovering. I scheduled another vet appoint on May 17th where the prescribed topical and internal antibiotics to stop and control the infection. He is a dog who never leaves the house and I have ring recording to prove so. This infection could only have been caused by the grooming clinic being unsterile or not caring for an animal properly. The vet said its one of three things. They didnt rinse off the soap fully (which we put him in the tub every other day to ensure nothing was on his paws during this issue), cut to closely, or unsterile cutters.Business response

The complaintents came in for an appointment on the 17th, a week befor hand they brought **** in for a meet in greet were they were informed what products we use and that they are all veterinarian grade. A few days after we received a phone call stating **** was licking his foot accessively. I then instructed them to bring the dog to me so I could take a Look at the foot. A few days later, **** came in with a sock on one foot under that sock he had a hot spot. We then instructed them to go to the vet and call me once That takes place. They came in to the salon about three weeks later with A vet bill yelling that we are to cover this. I let them know that we need to speak with vet to confirm this was in fact caused by our facility and until then all I can do is refund your grooming. We have made multiple attempts to contact them to get consent to speak with the vet And conclude this matter. However, the vet and us are unable to get in contact with either party At this point and it has now been over a month. Upon the vet bill visit we were informed kona has had allergies and ear infections in the past. In our service agreement it states that grooming can Expose Or agitate pre-existing health conditions, (which the complaintents signed) it states clearly that vanity **** LLC is not liable if this occurs, We also believe it is unfortunate. We did not know this before konas is appointment. We were informed he was"physically" sound. We believe it is unfortunate that the lack of of communication has lead to this however, we are now able to take steps to avoid this in the future.
